It feels kind of silly that Au Ra are allowed to alter the color of their limbal rings, but not the iris itself.

Little heads up, there was once a player who bought over 500 fantasias in a year. No, it's not me and don't ask me how I know it. Just know that fantasias do sell and they do make money.
On contact lens ... you'd think a level 70 mult-trade-craftsmaster who can whip 5 by 4 fishtanks out of thin air would be able to at least craft the frame for a new style of non-contact glasses but nooooo. There are precisely 4 options of glasses in this game for people who are near-sighted/far-sighted or whatnot, nothing more(well there's probably a few more, but nowhere like the amount of choices we can get in real life). I call discrimination xD. But it seems like my hit-rate with a bow has nothing to do with how good my eyesight is, or what glasses I wear, but is determined by what recycled clothes pellets I meld onto my robe ...... sometimes, I do struggle to immerse myself in this game xD.
Oh yes, also, Limbal rings at the aesthetician xD. So yes, and no, this game ain't realistic. We'll probably never get to change skin colour at the aesthetician either. Don't care to debate with actual logic on its feasibility.

OK, so, this is a pretty funny discussion, but here's the deal. Square Enix is a publicly traded company, last I checked. They trade as 9684 on the Toyko Stock exchange. The purpose of the company is to generate revenue for their Shareholders. I expect that everyone in the corporate structure is expected to assist the above, and the employees, from janitor to CEO are probably judged on their ability to accomplish this task. The video games are just a means to this end, and we are consumers of those games. We communicate to the company not in some silly way like forums or customer comments or whatever. Sure, they have these things, and maybe they look over them when they are really bored. But, the way consumers communicate is cold, hard cash. At the end of the day, it's the only communication that really matters. If you want to get a company's attention, your money is the only guaranteed way to do that, because this is good for the Shareholders. OK, still following? Great!
In terms of MMORPGs, paying for a game communicate that you demand (and I mean this in an economic sense)...that you demand the company to produce video game content. Paying subscription fees communicates that you want them to maintain and continue content generation, and I promise they will listen. Micro-transactions, however, communicate that you care nothing for content and want only more micro-transaction items to be produced, and I promise you that they will listen and obey. Buying a micro-transaction is basically commanding the company to STOP producing content right now and put all efforts towards micro-transactions right away because the profit margins on micro-transactions are absurdly high.
It's really, really hard to product good content, but it's really, really easy to produce and sell micro-transaction stuff. Thus, the player base has been screaming at the company in the language that the company speaks to sell things like Fantasias, etc, and they have listened and obeyed. And, I mean, say what you want on the forums, but companies don't care about forums. They care about profits. And, if you are a savvy consumer, you will be very, very careful how you communicate (IE, purchase), because you WILL get more of what you buy, and that's it. If something isn't profitable (or is less profitable), it will NOT be produced.
I wasted ~ 230 in 4 years ._. Didn't even realize that it was that much until I counted my purchases at the mog station a few days ago. I really wish that they add more options to the character creator, especially to the "face" option.
I can't find a model which I'm content with, any of the available faces seem to have atleast one detail that is off... too much details are locked to that propertie, for example the Au'ra scale/horns.
I really liked Mides' model and got dissapointed pretty fast after realizing that you can't create an Au'ra with her scales/features/properties.
I'm not even talking about her special eyes (which I find amazing) or her scar, just about the basic face properties.
They should atleast add eye colour to the aesthetician, since that's something easy explained with contact lenses. I would be happy about skin colour too but don't see that happening.

Seeing as this thread has been going for 3 years and it hasn't changed yet, don't hold your breath. The more they add to the Aesthetician, the fewer fantasias they sell.
Please let us tan!!
I'm still a bit sore that they won't let us change our eye color, which was initially promised as one of the features. D: I would love to be able to change my eye color sometimes (magic, contacts, some manner of illusion like prisms give, etc. I'm sure it could be explained), but there is no way in heck that I'm paying $10 just for that. So.... :T
