[Request] Please Suspend Housing Demolition for NA

It's just a generally unhelpful system that harms people more than helps.

I would argue it helps as many people as it hurts. My FC would not have a house if not for the auto demolish.

As for disabling it temporarily, I can agree. However, Shirogane should not be delayed. It's a highly anticipated housing zone that many are looking forward to. It's unfortunate that those suffering may not have a chance at getting a place there, but I have no doubt the plots will be gone in short order regardless.

Can we remove housing demolition all together? It clearly hasn't solved the housing situation. Many people will face tragedies in day to day life they must deal with. It's just a generally unhelpful system that harms people more than helps.

I'm all for indefinite suspension for this and every other thing that may arise, be it on a national or on a personal level.

Removing it assures houses will forever be lost when people inevitably quit without relinquishing the property. I do, however, agree with a temporary suspension.

I mean, speak for yourself, but I know a countless amount of people that would have never gotten a house if not for the demolition system.

It's fine how it is, but in fairness since we got a delay from the japan earthquake, we should get one now.

vote +1 for suspending it for a NA data centers. I also think suspending shirogane release would be NICE... but I'd understand if that wasn't feasible.

Lots of people quit the game. Those houses shouldn't sit in Limbo. I still believe personally a paying sub should be all that's necessary but that's me.

i'm only for this only because they got one in japan, so it's only fair that NA gets one as well...but...*laces up bad guy shoes*

Keeping a house "in a video game" should honest to goodness be a last priority for someone who's a victim of the recent hurricane. While they have my utmost sympathy and i do hope they can get back on their feet with all loved ones well. If your biggest worry is "i need to get on XIV so i can save my house" you may need to rethink your life choices.

Just switch it over to "must not have an inactive sub for x days" rather than having to enter your house.

Would solve the issue for the most part, and those that quit would still end up relinquishing.

Since they did suspend it after the earthquake in Japan, I hope it is not asking too much to do the same for NA?

I do not know about the plans for Shirogane. This will be SE's decision. I can however imagine the frustration of players if they do delay it.

Example comments may include but are not limited to:

"Who cares? They have bigger things on their mind than losing out some virtual game house!"

"We are paying customers and our enjoyment should not be affected by external factors that do not impact us at all!"

"Do you lots have no compassion? What if you were in that hit zone?"

Yes, but having at least this one little thing that is still going to be there despite the chaos that's occuring can bring a little peace of mind. That is invaluable when there is this much loss.

That's the whole reason housing demolishing was suspended after the Earthquakes, after all. It's just a little courtesy and care.
