Dear Healers who don't DPS

I don't blame them and this reminds me that i have to use one of the Q&A in the future to ask yoshi, if they ever will consider making an not skippable 5 min video to explain that these options exist. That said, if you use those option, then there shouldn't be any issue. If you are playing on ps4 and can't play with gamepad, you can youse mouse+keyboard aswell, anyway.

Yuck. I'm sorry but trying to force someone to watch a five minute video on how to play the game isn't going to help. I know we'd like to teach people these options exist, but I kinda figured that's what us veterans are here for. I don't want to Clockwork Orange a player. I don't mind pointing them to a video if need be though if an official one was made.

I have never said the video should teach them how to play the game. It should just tell them basic stuff like...

• You can change your ui under layout to your taste
• You can activate additional hotbars to use more skills with gamepad faster
• You can enter the novice chat for additional questions

I have meet a few people who complained about the lack of space on their hotbar or that it is clunky to switch with r1 and then i asked them, if they are already using those shortcut features and they didn't even know those exist. Could they have asked? Maybe, but how often do people ask about stuff they don't expect a game to have or dont know exist?

No offense, but i hope you don't call them lazy when trying to help them. Some of them are, but some of them are not

One of the things that software developers should know is that around 90% of users of a mainstream application will never change the default settings. It is EXTREMELY important to have good defaults as a result. I'd suspect the percentage is lower for MMO players because of the nature of the game, but the general point stands. Lots of people have no idea the options exist and will not go looking for them if they're not told.

I don't know what its like with a controller, but the PC version doesn't start off with enough hotbars visible and doesn't make it terribly clear how to get more. You can actually do a fair bit if you understand how to do it, but its a thing people who don't know how to do it will struggle with until they get help.

Again, the problem is not a video existing. but forcing the player to sit through it being unskippable. It's not just console players that don't understand how to customize. Yet forcing that on any player isn't exactly helpful. There's just a lot to absorb in the game while you're playing it. If it was an option, I have no problem. I have a problem with it being some you force especially on a console player. It does kinda come off insulting, and PC players have ways of getting around something that would be obnoxious.

Linking to a popup like the help tips where one can visit it is great. Linking a video in the Character Configuration also great. Making it some kind of unskippable video...gross. XD
