Are you really trying to imply a game company shouldn't show case one of their more recent games, that's current and popular, to not go to major gaming venues to promote their title? Or to not have at least a representative for the company?

Either or, more staff or not, it'd still take time. What you're suggesting is possibly hiring more people than SE is willing to pay. Or possibly slack on quality of employees, as well as a slew of other things that are not good for the long term and are extremely short-sighted decisions.
