I hate it when people flood to FATEs, it makes FATEs last many times longer than when nobody does them. That's the main thing I hate about the FATE system. When the horde of people leave, the next round of FATEs take so long to do they're a waste of time.
And I simply hate events that rely on FATEs. Or anything that rely on FATEs. FATEs were supposed to be something spontaneous, not something we camp for. Yet what has it been ever since the first day of 2.0 launch? It has been something people camp for.
In 2.0 people camp all the FATEs for the EXP. Then when EXP was nerfed nobody does them. They become just an annoyance on the map. Then people camp designated FATEs for events and for the relic, the rest are still just annoyances on the map.
The FATE system is a complete failure in design. It had good intentions but it should have just been built into the overworld system pervasively. Just part of the world, that things happen on the maps. It would have been fine if it was just another failed game system, but the devs refuse to acknowledge their failure and try to herd, try to force, try to make players go to these FATEs, thinking that this somehow saves the FATE system.
So I absolute detest how the dev are forcing players to do things we don't like to do. Just acknowedge that FATEs are a failed system. Get over it. And stop forcing players to waste time in camping for random drops from FATEs.
