CNJ = WHM and THM = BLM

The discussion was never about people having to level classes. That part is easy. Stop trolling for once and stop ignoring the real issue.

People like myself, Klive, and others have put forth very good arguments as to why it makes absolutely no sense for THM to be BLM and CNJ to be WHM. This is about logic. It's also about new players who come into the game and are slapped in the face by a move out of left field when they find out what job their class is going to be playing.

I get some of you don't give a crap about the story making sense. Fine. SE should care, however. If they don't care enough to ensure their world has internal logic, why should we care enough to pay to play?

Everyone bitches about immersion as soon as they hear there will be jumping in the game but nobody seems to give a damn that the class with the BLM skills and lore will be the WHM and the class with the WHM skills and lore will be the BLM. This community is incredible.

But whatever, I'm done ranting on the subject.

A good mage in this game has both CON and THM at level 50 right now. End of story. Which class turns into which job is a non-issue if you take mage seriously.

This! Why gimp yourself purposely? THM has amazing spells past 40, likewise with CON. Stop being lazy and benefit yourself more by obtaining free spells through grinding. At least you don't need to pay for spells...

I think you need to stop trolling, son... no seeds on the bun. There is no issue, SE said con is whm and thm is blm. Deal with it.

Maybe it's just me... but I don't give two hoots for "immersion". It's a video game and I play it for fun. I'll play it until it's not fun.

I suppose you'd all quit if SE decided that we got Superman powers and could fly around the sky. I'd have the whole server to myself!

I don't care if con = whm or thm = blm or glad = bard or mrd = corncob. Whatever they do is fine by me, if you are going to whine about everything they do... it's going to be a long long road to 2.0.

Exactly this ^ Just like having some defensive skills is extremely useful. Yet plenty of threads have had Q_Q about "I don't want to level anything other than XYZ".

Does it really matter what class becomes what job. More than enough evidence has been provided that this could have gone either way. Who cares? Your whining / debating / arguing isn't going to change the fact that SE made a decision.

No, I read it. But I also read this, which makes the point you are trying to make irrelevant:

He won't change the fundamentals because of lore and if nukes were to be changed outright, CNJ would not be able to solo. We know this. THM is probably getting some more nukes.

People are just confused. I, and many others, are not saying that it should be changed or it will be changed. The letter was clear and there is little to no need for "debate". People, including myself, just don't understand why. I would like to know why and how the dots the connect, but where can we go to clear up this confusion? The only resource even remotely capable is these forums. I do not see these threads as whining as much as people trying to find an answer to why our perceived square peg fit in to the triangle hole.

He admits it was all speculation anyway. Which was my stance since the very beginning of the job debacle. I'm satisfied with the recent dev quote. I was mostly just worried that CNJ would be changed as a class. It won't be. Thus I'm not worried.

Don't be worried, I'm confident Yoshi knows what he's doing. He looks at games outside of the FF series and get's ideas, so I'd say the game is in good hands.

Dead horse? Lets beat it until we get glue and give it to Yoshi! Joking aside, this a forum and this is on the internet; any topic will be beaten into glue. This one is just the topic for this patch/letter/notes/interview/news source, until we get a new one. I'm not saying to support this cycle, but accept it for what it is.

Yoshi has a plan and anyone still playing this game probably has faith in that plan. I think Yoshi will make this game into something great, hence why I'm still on these forums.
