Your stated implication is that it would double revenue if this DRESS was made availabe to the male avatar community is blatantly false. You obviously have an agenda but don't expect people here to buy your line of fantasy.
You double the audience who can consume it, therefore, you increase the revenue, especially over time. Furthermore, by making it accessible to everyone, you refrain from antagonizing people who would've loved to buy it for more than the one character, but cannot for their main and therefore are put off the costume as a whole. We have on the first page of this very sub forum quite a hefty amount of users who would've doubled down on glamours like this if SE had made it available for them.
But as implied by my last post, this entire circus is driven by a gross double standard and not a small bit of misogyny. "But Billy, they're giving women more outfits, how is that hating on them?!" because apparently dressing in outfits that are perceived as feminine (fun fact, clothes have no genders, they're piles of fabrics) is beneath male characters or SE would've gone ahead with it by now. The debate about how uncomfortable it makes the developers is all the more proof that is what this is about.
A set called "Best Man's" is available to female characters yet the same can't be said for male charas and the bridesmaid's set. I have no better example to show the core issue at play here than that. It is not "oh I want that outfit but I can't", it's a systematic approach on the part of the design team.I absolutely love Aymeric's attire and Thancred's Modish attire (not to mention most of the male Garo sets are much nicer than the female counterparts), yet you don't see me crying on the forums because my female character can't wear them. I just accept it and move on.

First of all I suspect there are more female avatars in this game than male ones and secondly making female outfits available to the small audience that would like to be able to cross dress takes development resources that would be better spent else where in my opinion. If your concern is that males didn't get an outfit along side this one I can buy the reasoning for your concern but then again I don't believe that is what you'r upset about. You just want to turn this thread into another Males want to be able to Wear Female Outfits thread.
Second time someone has tried to brush this off in this very thread. Your anecdotal evidence is not fact.First of all I suspect there are more female avatars in this game than male ones and secondly making female outfits available to the small audience that would like to be able to cross dress takes development resources that would be better spent else where in my opinion.
And however much people insist on turning this into a 'no crossdressing!' issue, it's not. It's just that it's assumed that it would be easier to adapt an existing design in a game where they keep forcing us to wear skirts and dresses and frills and corsets and flowers anyway than to make something new. If they had made a male-only outfit in the same gothic style with appropriate themed stylings, I think we'd all be too busy celebrating to even notice the forums. Not sure there is solid evidence for this. If you look at sources like the official census, the gender splits weren't that dramatic at all: http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...e8ff1bcf34c5ae
If it's become worse since then, well, they've also been treating male characters like inferior customers since then. So it's likely a situation they caused themselves. Players who want the most content are going to be tempted to fantasia or quit when they keep being silently shut down like this. Correlation does not imply causation in every situation.
I seriously don't know why people have to witch hunt our motives so aggressively instead of conceding that actually, the current design bias is a lame way to treat customers.
Bless you. Every time this convo comes up in the forums I get told "WELL JUST FANTA THEN" and I shouldn't have to. That they have acknowledged that theres an unfair tilt to female exclusives and still pump more out is sad.
