I have dyslexia, and I did it. Yes it was confusing, but it's not discrimination. All you have to do is take a screenshot of both rooms, and you can figure it out. I'd rather not get a free pass, just because I'm disabled. That wouldn't encourage me to work for things, and would just undermine my potential capabilities. I'm not braindead, or incable of learning.

This thread becomes objectively less believable as it progresses.

Actually I do deal with both regularly, I just don't complain about it. I put on my big girl undies and find a way to over come the problem.

As for being at a desk, it was still very traumatizing, real or not.

You DO NOT get to tell me what does and doesn't trigger panic attacks, you DO NOT get to tell me that I can't do something because numbers and letters move around in my vision, nor do you get to tell me that other problems I deal with aren't as important. So again either take on all the problems or none at all. YOU DO NOT GET TO CHOOSE WHAT EFFECTS OTHERS, SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIOR. Go big or go home.

I think maybe the OP is just too lazy to actually try to figure out the puzzles and cries about it on the forums instead of actually trying to solve the puzzles. Don't blame the game or developers for your own personal shortcomings. Adapt, adjust and deal with it.

I feel like this is very well-said. A lot of people that I know with disabilities would much rather be treated just like anyone else; they do not demand special treatment just because they have this condition or that disorder or whatever malady. On a more personal note, this goes for myself as well. I don't want to be seen as different from anyone else, regardless of what I may or may not suffer from.

Making the game accessible to those that are color blind, partially blind, brain damaged, and etc. makes sense. Accessibility is very important, but the key difference here is that the event is accessible. More time should be put into people who literally cannot do mechanics, because they can't function enough to understand that they are there.

I have said something similar in another topic, conditions like these can be overcome with the use of certain accessories, like corrective lenses. If someone is doing their day to day life without the need of these things, why would one feel discriminated with a puzzle in a video game? I can't understand why someone with a medical condition would not use methods to lessen its effects and blame developers.

Dyslexia is a disability which involves letters - many people suffer from it - I would love to know what Square Enix was thinking when they did this - i mean they basically excluded everyone who suffers with Dyslexia from this event - i mean i cant do this.

I would love to know what they are going to do about this to now level the scales for people who have dyslexia.

I am really disgusted with this to be honest its really bad that a company such as Square enix is making this kind of mistake.
What you are describing is not discrimination. It's not exclusion. It's not a mistake.

so.. I'm not wading through 11 pages of this. Did nobody else just write down the letters on a piece of paper? even if you're dyslexic you don't HAVE to understand it. Just put it in the same order, or is there some part of dyslexia I don't understand where you can't do this?
I'm all for including people, but calling out SE for discrimination for trying something different with a quest? Going a bit far aren't we? How about saying "Hey, I had a hard time with this, maybe next time supplement the quest with this" or "this quest really confused me, can someone help me out?" ... Don't take it so personal, they didn't make it to frustrate YOU. They made it to give everyone a different thing to do, god forbid they innovate a little. There is nothing they can make that will include EVERYONE, suggest solutions, don't admonish them for unintentional slights.

I'm sorry Ariochie9771, but I disagree with you. Dyslexia, as you know, is very complicated and one diagnoses does not fit all so by saying that because you had specific trouble with the quest does not mean everyone did.

I am Dyslexic too and the only trouble I had with this event was figuring out what you had to do; that said, it's a puzzle. If you hovered over the stairs between the levels you could've looked for the number and wrote down the letters on a piece of paper (which is what I did).

A part of having a condition in which your ability to process information is compromised is learning what tools you can give yourself to help yourself out. I personally never leave the house without a notepad, pen and Dictaphone.
