Wth, Summoner isn't that hard, get off your high horse. It's difficult, however the exaggerated skill ceiling that I'm seeing on this forum is akin to any low-tier job/class/hero/fighter in any competitive pvp/pve game. We get it, your job is bad. We get it, your job is unforgiving. You don't have to sell your soul to be good at this game.I don't know anything about parsing but SMN damage wise in its current state I would consider to be competitive despite the insane difficulty and in some ways fighting the class itself to maximize its potential. Like it takes tons of practice doing fights and I daresay a lot of DPS tunnel syndrome but it can yield numbers...with the cost of ones sanity, but numbers nonetheless.
Mechanically, I eagerly look to see how SE addresses my class in 4.1.

As parsing is against ToS nobody should be using that as an excuse to exclude players anyway. That being said, SMNR definitely needs some work. I don't think it's broken to the point of being unworkable though. As stated, it's just less forgiving and takes a level of skill.

Sure, it's not like playing a game of Starcraft against a korean world champion. But within the context of FFXIV itself, it's still the hardest job to play. And within MMORPGs, FFXIV is not an easy one. It's not the hardest, but comparing it to a "low-tier" character in any other game is silly.
But I guess the opinion of someone with ACN at Lv50 is more relevant than the one of more than 2000 people. Right, Sir Getoffyourhighhorse? Right.

September 20 is 3 months since stormblood release. I never seen them hit hit exactly 3 months. Usually 3 month plus 2-3 weeks. I'd be very surprised to see 4.1 before early October.
SMN is hard lets see you have to move that pet every couple minutes to keep it from dying, you mess up a small amount and it equals 800-900 dps loss, your pet dies that's more dps loss and they die easily, You die and you can forget about Bahamut, bahamut is pretty much your main dps contribution and it takes a while to even get him out, bahamut stops attacking if you move even slightly that means no ahk morn or wormwave and ahk morn will still go on cd even if it doesnt go out, ruin 3 does like 50 more potency then ruin 1 but cost astronomically more mp....I won't hit on the obvious stuff like bane nerf, dot nerf, and how shadow flare works....But there are many more reason SMNs have it bad now
But I will say this SMN can out dps a red mage if played optimally which is not many of the SMN players Currently
