I think the whole immediate issue with tank enmity put a damper on that this time around. Pretty sure people are guessing October because it factors in the usual 3-month delay for patches with a couple weeks or so to factor in any hotfixing measures.
As for SMN fixes, I think the real question is whether or not they'll use new means of job testing that involves more soloing and open-world scenarios or if devs will just stick with the same old testing measures that created the issues with SMN in the first place. This would not just determine any sort of breathing room with the rotation, but also whether or not SMN will have means of healing their pet or more suitable AoE damage.

September 20 is 3 months since stormblood release. I never seen them hit hit exactly 3 months. Usually 3 month plus 2-3 weeks. I'd be very surprised to see 4.1 before early October.
