I was responding to serious progression, and the hardcore used SCH just fine. Just like how AST was World 3rd in Midas with a JP group, and World 1st in Creator with Angered. All the while when people were still saying everyone needed a White Mage.
Guess what? All three healers have a pretty balanced clear rate of all of Deltascape Savage, the most balanced since AST was introduced in HW. No healer is clearly lagging behind. Last tier it was White Mage was the least-used, and that's mostly because of the Balance card meta and healing requirements were pretty lax.

And I am saying that people at the apex of skill and knowledge can make pretty much any job work. It's when they can't that the Job is major trouble. I am also going to say that, yeah, of course a SCH seems exceptionally strong in a raid setting - they're heavily tuned to that environment, perhaps more so than any other job (maybe except SMN). A lot of SCH's healing potential assumes that you have a co-healer. When you don't, SCH notably suffers with the high cost and low effectiveness of their main source of healing.
