"It happened and sucked in XI" is not a justification for "It will happen and suck in XIV". Neither is "It happens and sucks in all MMOs."

Whats even worse is i still see tons of players parading the equipment around town due to the high drop rates to account for the poor loot system. So from what i understand a characters identity relies mostly on whatever jobs he has at 50 thats capable of equipping whatever drop they got from ifrit.
So, using the OP's data and your valid point about the true drop rate, I decided to calculate how many kills it would take for me to have a 50% chance of getting the claws. Forty-six kills doesn't sound like a fun amount of time to wait for my odds to be 50/50. Nor does the 92 kills it would take for 75% odds. Granted, my first kill got me a new GLA weapon (lol 36 GLA), so yeah. . .this is an odd thread....
first and foremost, your data is a bit off.... 15 Ifrit battleaxes in 100 kills is really a 1.875% drop rate (15/800)
second, it's not the drop rate that's flawed.... Its the loot distribution method
I don't want guaranteed drops every time. Lower drop rates and RNG are a staple of RPG's, MMO or otherwise
The more you have to go through to get something, the more you appreciate it
Statistics are just statistics, I understand. Conversely, I wouldn't be surprised to learn of a LNC out there somewhere who lands squarely in that 10% that don't get a new lance even at kill #183.
The thing that really galls me is the potential to get the, say, greataxe your friend has been waiting for for 50 kills when you have no intention of leveling MRD.
I can handle low drop rates - they're stupid, but I can handle them. I can't handle meaninglessly sadistic distribution systems, which to be fair they've said they'll change several times now.

This version with these rewards will be gone, but there will still be primal fights.
On topic:
Solution: Same drop rate. You have a chance to get a key item from chest at the end of the fight. You got the key item? Go back to the old guy who fashions a weapon of your choice from your key item. Done.

I agree, the system is stupid since it causes frustration, however...
If they implement a loot pool then the drop rate will have to dramatically decrease or everyone will have all drops within a few days.
Linkshells have to start giving out weapons on attendance and job level and still, some drops will be useless for the party and they will be dropped.
Is 20 dmg for the hit like 30 dmg if a RNG shoots?
No DRG for party, camp spot site with 30 dmg, but is it for 20 like 30 dmg when you no hit be it for dd, for 30 dmg instead? or half is 10 for 20 dmg?How i mine for fish?
Who cares you cry babies!
YOU CAN GO IN EVERY 15 MINUTES.
You'll get your poopoo glowing weapon sooner or later. Are you that ADHD you need it NOW NOW NOW?
You're so casual you can't actually work for something? Oh my GOD this is just sad to see people like this.

Try saying that again after you run ifrit a hundred times, trust me, it gets real old long before you'll get there, especially after you start to get nothing but duplicate weapons.
I been 7/7 for two weeks. And I have TWO canes.
YOU CAN GO EVERY 15 MINUTES.
It is a JOKE.
