No offense but people who said that this is not a buff whatsoever is a bit kooky in the head lol. Having higher damage when you miss positionals IS A BUFF. Don't tell me the potency increase doesn't matter when you're forced to hit from the wrong angles during certain moments in a fight.

True North is up usually for these. Actually, every single time you're forced to attack from an odd angle during O1S (during Classical Elements that forces you to stack), True North is up.

This isn't true. If your group is particularly slow you wont have true north for the 5th classical elements which comes quite quickly after the 4th (or is it 3rd and 4th, meh who knows) and during bombs in the middle going off, and during the pushback into clamp. These are all minor instances where you will miss positionals if true north is down (which it will be if you use it on the classical elements).

O1S is also the most lenient fight with positionals (not counting NEO) where 2,3 and 4 you lose a hell of a lot of positionals.
