Can smn be reworked into what Demonolgy Locks are?

I don't care for the idea of having multiple summoned primal up at once. Honestly, I would prefer if SMN wasn't even a pet class.

So what would you even have summoner as? the name implies that they summon so why shouldn't they bring out summons to deal dmg?
