As a minority, is it out of the question to hope for representation?

why do some people care so much about whether some dumb artwork for an event contains their race or not?
You're here to play the game,arent you? Log into the game and you can stare at your femroe all day.

Also, from what I know, femroes and catboys didnt even exist in 1.0 and were solely added because part of the player base asked for them.


Also: dont try the "but youre a miqote and miqote are presented everywhere" card on me. I dont give a flying f*** about it. Tbh,i find most FFXIV artwork to be mediocre at best compared to some other games.

I dont understand why it is such a big deal what race is in these artworks. For me it matters 0 what is drawn there but the rewards for the events.

You know something i find semi-ironic that i just realized. The OP was basically indicating a lack of race depictions in event posters, specifically the faire, and specifically pointing out Ries and Elezens. But this is last years poster...

There are tones and tones of artworks from kittens, but few include FemRoes. Why is it so unreasonable to ask for a change there? If you like something that isnt reperesented, what would you do? The clever thing is: ask for it to change!

(Bit offtopic, but maybe a fitting example: My dad used to go to a pizza-place close to his office, but since he doesnt eat to much, he could never finish his pizza. So he asked the owner "Hey, could you make smaller pizzas aswell?" and the next week he was greeted by the owner, waving a smaller pizza pan, telling him: "Here, now you can have small pizza!" A few other customers liked that aswell and even if the majority stuck to the normal sized pizza it made my dad a very happy customer! Because he asked for something that he'd liked to see even if the majority maybe wouldnt want that.)

Hopefully this time around this discussion won't die thanks to another ongoing debate. I'm sort of glad you didn't forget about it.

Unfortunatly we are a minority and SE plays the statistics game.

Also there are plenty of people who despite not playing roe actually like the way they look and appreciate it, even if they feel like they suck at making decent looking roes and therefore end up not playing them.

Also to try and explain to some people why this is important.... you play a game, you are a fan of it, therefore you tend to enjoy everything related to the game, that includes artwork, plushies, cakes, etc. If you happen to be particularly found of a race and you never see it in the artwork of the game you like you get a bit... disappointed. Makes you wonder why is it even in the game in the first place if it's pretty much forgotten when it comes to everything else.

Also if femroes exist due to players demand then why ignore it afterwards? I mean for them to change it there must have been quite a lot of requests cuz otherwise they wouldn't have bothered, no? o.O

I complain about this every time an event rolls around to my boyfriend. Him and I both play FemRoes and we'd love some representation outside of countdowns. The odds of that happening are slim though since we're such a minority.
