As someone who doesn't PvP often, I can say I gave up on ever Healing PvP because even if it is not your fault and someone gets ganked and dies in 2 seconds, you still get blamed for it. (I know this doesn't always happen of course, but it's happened to me more times than I care to like.) So not only is there not much incentives to Heal PvP but you get crapped on for every little thing that goes wrong. It's ALWAYS the healers fault, it seems. So I don't heal anymore. I know this is NOT the case for everyone, just my own personal experience, so please take with a grain of salt... But PvP is just a toxic ground for Healers......

    C'mon man.
Winning is not an incentive, that's like saying you don't need healer gear in pve endgame raids because you can't win without a healer so that should be incentive enough.

No, incentives won't suddenly make everyone switch to healer, but it would certainly help make some people be more willing to do it than if they get nothing out of it.

I agree they really should promote healing more, it is very one sided on rewarding kills/assists and ignoring the fact that none of that would have been possible without a healer keeping them up.

I also like the idea of healer high/fever, just maybe not the OPs exact idea, I love getting battle high/fever, it's exciting and rewarding and makes you feel important and it adds a flavour to being a dps that's lacking on healers who get nothing similar.

I feel like incentives would simply invite people to heal that only want the incentive, and not actually want to heal or would be good at it.

Kinda like XP in PvP. . . Yeah, I said it.

Personally I'd prefer everyone to have access to reliable and short-cooldown self-sustains (Defensive CDs, self-heals, etc) rather than dependent on a healer to keep them afloat. The huge dependence on the healer for survival is why healing is such a huge responsibility and a source of stress. Perhaps healers should be nerfed on their healing, but get compensated for more offensive spells and/or party buffs, making them more of a supportive role rather than dedicated healing one. This adjustment would allow greater autonomy on the battlefield and encourage roaming and 1v1 (or 1vX) in frontlines.

And yes, I stole this idea from GW2.

They gutted healers too badly in PVP for me to ever want to attempt it again. Sorry for those of you on my Data Center who had come to recognize me in matches near the end of Heavensward, but an AST without Sects, card-shuffling tools or any sort of CC outside of a single heavy tied to an ability that you might want to spam for damage just isn't fun for me. No amount of incentives will drag my AST ass back in there. I actually haven't even queued since 4.0 dropped because I hate what a mongo-fest they made it, but I'm seeing a trend of a lot of DPS liking the new system and having fun so maybe I'll start using it to level my BLM.

I don't mind coming in as a healer in PVP if it weren't for the fact people are incredibly salty/rude if they don't get a heal even when they're out of range, decide to solo rush a crowd...etc. Even with the nerf to AOE healing in PVP it's just decision making since it's all GCD, and few instant heals. I can't heal if I'm being attacked but people expect a heal to go out anyways.

I also really hate how people complain how there's no healers in the group....then go as a healer. Don't pressure others to go as healer. Level yours to be able to play it in PVP if you think it's so bad.

If you're there to level your DPS because of horrible queue times in PVE content, don't complain that there's no healer.

Don't get mad cuz I don't switch to healer if I want to try PVP content as a different job. I don't get mad at others when there's no healers on team, I just have to be more cautious when I play.

I thought battle high/fever was incentive enough to roll healer and being able to survive. I can solo any dps class as a healer.
