I liked sustain because it kept the fairys from healing the shit out of themselves.

Not to rain on your parade but Sustain was a healing over time so if your fairy didn't have any higher priority to heal (which in your case she doesn't) she would still heal the shit out of herself because sustain needs 9 whole seconds to just about heal as much as 2 embraces do in 5 seconds. To make matters worse, Sustain also needs 9 seconds to heal less than a physick would have healed immediately.
