It starts as soon as you aren't in your house.

Yeap, there are people who have been very active with their characters and lost their houses because they didn't enter them for 45 days.

A handful of people over the last few years have made threads/posts about this, but we have no way of actually verifying what they're saying is correct. They may/may not be true, but I'm just saying it's not confirmed as fact is all.

But SE specifically said you must enter the house to reset the timer. Even if you're online every day if you don't enter the house for 45 days it gets demolished.

Yes sorry, I misread your post (should have drank coffee first...) I thought you were talking about the handful of people who claim they had gone in their house, but still lost it etc. My apologies for the confusion.
