Just for contrast, I want to tell a story about a friend of mine and me. I (war) and him (whm) were doing, omega normal 2. Now, my friend is the kind of WHM that will spend most the time throwing Stone VI and I call him out all the time for letting me go too low in HP (Upheaval is worthless if I'm not high in HP.) At the end of this Omega 2 run, the other healer, think an astro, starts going off at my friend for not healing at all, something I could had even taken for granted (that he would not heal) but he asked me to check my logs. Turned out my friend did more healing than the astro that was complaining about "solo healing" while also doing more damage than either the tanks (I was barely geared enough to enter the place, not sure what the other tank's excuse was.)

Just saying: do first make sure the other person really was not healing. In the heat of the battle, its easy to miss what was truly going on.

In easy content, I start off dpsing, and step in to heal if things look rough - sub 50% hp. I main sch, so I rely on my faerie a lot.

In savage, my cohealer prefers healing to dps, so I mainly throw some indoms, and heal if he dies. Though when joining someone else's group, I simply ask how much help the other healer wants. Use your words.

Use words? Never! You just play chicken with healthbars - first one to fill one up is it! :P

From your logs, not only did your Co healer heal more than you, he did more DPS than and with less overheal.
Edit: it's probably a different healer

I'm a WHM and I don't dps unless everyone is healed first. Just because there are bad WHM doesn't mean all of us are. I'm not the best but I'm an ok healer and I'd never let a pt member die just so I could dps.

Alright I'm curious. What CDs are considered "unnecessary", exactly?

Health bar limbo is always fun with friends. Not so much fun in DF parties!

I love when I write someone off as dead after an aoe, just to see them move/hot ticks their HP above single digits. I get to heal instead of res after all!

If the healer is keeping everyone alive, I don't care what they do in their spare time. DPS or not. But if they stress out the co-healer to do majority healing for them to add a little DPS, there's a problem. Top priorities for a healer by most to least important:

    1. Don't let anyone die (as far as you can help it)
    2. Heal
    3. Have fun, play your own way so long as 1 & 2 are being kept
    4. ----
    5. DPS the enemy
    6. ----
    7. Tank the enemy

That is bad, even if really he is healing more, its stressful for a healer when you don´t see co healer cure. Sorry but your friend is bad companion, probably he had good statistics with AOE cure spells and Regen, but what would happened if your MT and OT died because he is not healing individually? healing individually waste good time you can DPS.

Anyway omega normal, doesn't need pretty much healing.
