Gosetsu will likely play a minimal role. Yotsuyu will be hauled in front of the Domans, but Hien will beseech them to spare her because it's things like executing her that created monsters like Yotsuyu in the first place. She'll be imprisoned for the rest of her life.

    How so?
And I would feel bad for putting her down..exactly like I felt bad about putting down that Garlean in the dungeon..I know that she did some horrible things and I dont think that she should get redemption (and since she grew up under their rule, I am not sure if one can change their mind so fast anyway) but I would never wish such a fate onto anyone. But in a way it would maybe be a good conclusion on the experiments..kinda like a hint that only the real echo is good and that the artificially one will either end in madness or becoming a monster. (At least this would be a kinda interesting way to go with it, imo)

If Gosetsu is only going to have a small role in the rest of the expansion I do question the decision of keeping him alive. I am someone that posted more than once that I am growing tired of all the deaths but I at least saw his death as logical and unlike Haurchefant I never got the feeling like it was purely out of the need to create drama. In that situation we simply could not have done something else, unlike with Haurchefant where he never should have even been in that situation..(how did we not saw this one coming..it will always remain a mystery to me) So seeing Gosetsu alive annoyed me way more because it does not make sense. The plot armor is strong with him. And yes having Yotsuyu thrown into prison is probably the best outcome for her situation..Redemption with her running free would be horrible because unlike other characters she completely enjoyed doing these things and I cant believe that anyone would truly accept her..but her surviving only to be killed would be bad too (imo)..and I just cant see how someone would change his whole belief just after one situation, so I cant see how she would sacrifice herself.

About Remedis sentence: Maybe because Gaius was not part of it thus he might not be death but we have to remember that those are not the souls of the real people anyway.

    Dark knight spoilers:
I read a summary of the story and watched the lvl 70 quest on youtube and I still can see how this shows that we killed innocent people. (And somehow I dont get an answer from those that post it) Myste was the sole regret we had thus everything he said was not necessary the whole truth. It was his opinion on it. He believed that by showing people their death friends/lovers/relatives, that they would be happy but we saw with the barmaid, that this is not necessarily the case. I also would say that most of our regret comes from not being able to save certain people which is kinda shown in his appearance and in his sentence about the loss for those that fight on our side. Most of all that are summoned and that we killed where not necessarily good people. And even if their death brings pain to their families it was still the better choice to kill them. And lets not forget that a lot of them acted on their own will. Ilbert could have worked together with Eorzea but he believed that they would never do something..in the end that man killed a lot of other innocent people too, summoned a primal, forced Eorzea into war against the empire and we also did not kill him, he chose to jump of the edge.

Myste is kinda like Fray. The WoL is annoyed at some people of Eorzea but knows that they have to go on and protect the people. Fray as the sole personification of the anger took it way too far and even wanted to leave Eorzea behind, thus not saving anyone anymore. Yet the WoL understood that its their burden to bear and as we see at the end, others came to his/her side to help him/her against Fray. So the WoL is not completely alone too. Its not like Fray did not have some good points but overdid it with that. The same can be said about Myste. He did not understand that sometimes its necessary to kill someone and only saw the pain for the relatives. He also never saw those people as bad people, even though they did some horrible things. I mean one even attacked the base of the scion, killed countless of people and much more..yet all he cared was that the families would be sad. I am not saying that he is completely wrong and people are suffering thanks to our actions too but none of those that we killed were innocent.

Examples: We were not the one that slew the husband of the barmaid. We did not start the war against the dragon thus it was not our fault that he died in this. Also without us, the war would probably still go on, which means that countless more lives would have been lost. Yet Myste does not truly care for this, only that someone died. The same with the WoD. It was not our fault that their world was near destruction and they were the ones that killed themselves. We also were not the ones that attacked first and we even helped them in the end. These are all people that we had no hand in their death. The same with the priestess that was slain by Sidurgu and not us.

In the end it just shows another part of the WoL, that tells us that he/she is still quite human. He/She does regret having to kill people but they also understand that they need to do the job otherwise even more people will suffer.

One could go around and take everything Myste says for granted but people should not forget that he is the personification of our regrets, so everything he does is purely based on this one emotion, thus his reactions and arguments are way over the top. One could say that he is simply only seeing one part of the puzzle, while ignoring the rest, even though its important to see the whole thing. Which is what the WoL does at the end.

Others take debates revolving around a fictional setting far too seriously for their own good to the point where they develop a strong sense of contempt for other posters that happen to read into things differently than they do. As evidenced by the unfortunate little spat that took place on the previous page! Though I have tempered hope that the poster in question has since seen the error of their ways and will offer an apology for such a hurtful outburst and an attempt at ridicule. I bear them no ill will and eagerly extend an olive branch of peace.
Which means that you dismiss evidence if you feel that its tainted. Which means that you dismiss evidence completely on your own subjective bias because you decide what is tainted and what is not. I am getting a bit tired of always reading how some are somehow objective and some not, even though we are all biased..you cant be that deep into a subject and not be in anyway influenced. If you take all the ingame quotes and show it to someone that has no idea of this lore/game and want them to give an opinion, then you will have someone that is way more near an objective opinion..but even that person has a bit of bias in them simply because they have life experience which shapes a person..

You can have your opinion, Cilia can have her opinion, I can have my opinion, everyone can have their opinion but one should stop to put themselves above any kind of bias even though it shines quite through.

Both sides can take it way too serious but I saw way more personal attacks on one side than the others. (And not necessarily from you.) Also last page shows no personal attack on you, so either you mean the one before that or I am just not seeing it. Anyway posting stuff like "seeing the error of their way" or talking about a self-righteous cause really does not make better arguments and are kinda putting the others down too, because they imply quite the things.

I see no reason to post any further arguments about Garlemald in this topic because there is no true discussion ongoing and if quotes from the game are ignored then its completely useless anyway. I have even tried to bring the discussion away from this.
