    I don't think the colour of your job icon has much to do with it. It's about the best tool for the job. If a RDM popping an instant raise costs the party less dps than a healer hardcasting then the RDM should do it.

    What I'm not sure about is the mp pool of SMN/RDM because I haven't played them at 70. If raising will cause these jobs to run out of mp that is obviously a huge dps loss. So my question really was "what is the opportunity cost of a SMN/RDM raising"? Is it just one GCD or does the mp factor in too?

    SMN at least has no MP issues whatsoever, and can easily save swiftcast for raise since it's not needed in their rotation anymore.

    Yes and no. SMNs can push more DPS by dumping mana(Ruin 3 out of DWT), which is also why Lucid is a great cross skill for them. But knowing when to stop and conserve is a big deal, especially when they are expected to rez.
