Just want to say this statement is not true for all DPS mains. I main a DPS because bard is my favorite job. Not because I dislike tanking or healing. I'm sure the same can be said for other DPS mains, so don't overgeneralize please.

I think the problem is PoTD is too good xp wise to not do. Bad and risky – hell yes. Responsible for a lot of trouble at end-game – that also.
But as long as it provides the best XP for your time people are going to feel obliged to use it.
I'm leveling a tank atm – half-way to 59-60, mercifully only 1-2 Potd runs left. If I could have leveled solely through dungeons, I would have. I did try to run each dungeon at least once while leveling however, because I don't want to be stuck at 70 without a clue – but that's me; the game in no way encourages players to do that – and it should.
Unless FATE grinding is significantly better?

I watch movies and youtube while doing dungeons, works fine, you also learn something from others and meet people while also seeing all the gear/music/bosses there is..
I gave potd a try but was bored out of my mind, wasted 30 minutes running it too as some person dissapeared or by us wiping to the boss, making that run completely worthless, never again.

You can also farm your 310/330 gear in Frontline or Feast, it gives enough tomes, imo.

i think you posted this thread 2 years too early ^^
level cap is still 70, not 80

I'm already capped out for the week for Omega and Creation tomestones, I usually am before the weekend. If you're looking for easier groups post something in party finder on Tuesday and you'll usually get a faster group (conversely check Party Finder too). As it is, I currently have no reason to run these things until next week, unless they wanna give us an alt-gearing method for me to keep queuing for things.
Also lul 80, not GW2 here.

As someone who got my first 70 a week ago as a DPS...I've had no particular issue with experts or omega. And I havn't even really been grinding hard for gear either (as you can tell by looking at my profile).
Why do you feel like other players are obligated to help you, anyway? You have (or should have) an FC to help you out if you really need it.
As someone who mains tank I can tell you that kind of attitude is stupid as all hell. Without the dps you can kiss goodbye to high end content clears. time to start appreciating the job dps do, and recognize that they shouldn't have to wait hours for a queue.

If you go in and say "Hello, I'm new here" most players will be accommodating, at least on the EU datacentre. The new player bonus message pops up if nobody has beaten it before. But, if you have beaten it before, you would say something like "Hello, I don't completely get this fight", and again, people will understand. It sounds like you've run into a group of bad eggs (which exist on all datacentres) and are magnifying the evidence to say "All players are bad because of this" (how many times have I had to play the unhelpful thinking styles card this week...), when that isn't the case.
If this is particularly troubling for you though, here are your solutions. Choose the one you feel fits you best:
1) Join an FC that will help
2) Join a LS that will help
3) Make friends that will help (I'd help were we on the same datacentre)
4) Quit the game
White Mage ~ Sage ~ AstrologianBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

She wasn't saying anything about how DPS don't do good work. She was saying that you can earn tomestones for gearing up your DPS while playing any job in the game, which is 100% true and a sensible approach if the DPS queues are that bad on the OP's world group.
Please don't do this on a Japanese world group unless you actually speak those languages or intend to make an effort to communicate with auto-translate, or you will end up blacklisted/reported on a regular basis. Though they removed language requirements for some content anyway, and you can probably do fine in the group where Tonberry server is located.
