    "Born Again Anima" (lights) needs to be updated.

    Lorewise, we have to fight enemies in order to gather aether so our weapon can grow.

    During 3.0 all we had to do was run roulettes and places where we usually would be running anyways with our anima equipped as it was a revelant weapon in its time. That way, the grind would be lessened.

    However, with the add of 4.0, not only the anima weapon became a glamour choice, but we cant gather lights from its new contents, even though we should be fighting stronger enemies.

    We should be allowed to gather lights from new dungeons as well and it should add a bit more lights in comparisson to older content.

    Is there any plans to update this quest?

    This is the second iteration of this system, the first one (Zodiac Nexus) was the same.

    If i recall correctly the steps for zodiac weapons weren't nerfed until anima was introduced, so likewise they will further nerf anima steps when the next relic is out, which so far seems to be scheduled to 4.15. The nerf consists of increased aetheric condensation from HW duties, I highly doubt they will include SB duties as they don't want players using old weapons in level 70 content.

    No, they nerfed the light farming for nexus weapons twice. The first nerf came during 2.X (I had just finished the grind the normal way, and was annoyed with the timing). The second was either late in 2.X or at launch of 3.0. Each time, they cut the amount of light needed in half.


    There was also a soft nerf in the sense that starting in 3.0, you can queue solo in low level content as a max level character. Queuing for Ifrit normal, you can clear the fight in less than 15 seconds, and gain light from each kill. It became super easy to finish the entire 2000 light farm in the time it takes to watch a movie. Alternatively, you could use your Novus weapon in 3.0 fates, and still gain light while leveling from 50 to 60.

    The only content you can farm light for anima weapon are 3.X fates (gotta beat 2000 of them? and you're doing that as a level 60 in level 50-59 fates), daily roulette, 3.X dungeons (again, level 60 character in level 51-60 content only), and 3.X raids and trials. None of that is easily farmable while solo. It was also a terrible misstep that you don't acquire weapon light from POTD or Diadem. I know I was farming those later contents, so my 3.X weapon has been stuck at ilevel 260 since forever.

    They need a nerf, and not just boosting light farming rates, but a broadening of content that awards light.

    I can agree that the light needs a Nerf. And that's coming from someone who did two animas while they were relevant. If anything, they should have simply doubled the amount of light you get from duties. Helped a friend farm A1S for hours to get his light. And while the kill time was much faster than it used to be (I was on my 320 SAM just to help with that in particular) it's still as mind numbingly tedious as it was in HW. Then again, maybe they don't want it to be super easy just yet in case they do like they did in HW and allow you to exchange an old relic to skip the first step.

    Nexus was nerfed because it wasn't the second last step, on the other hand zodiac and zeta weren't nerfed until after HW.

    In this case the light step is the second last, so it's still too "recent", so they are the next to be nerfed.

    Like with the 2.x lights, it will be not in the newer dungeons.
    Also everyone would kick you if you show up with a ilevel 260 weapon in a lv 70 dungeon.

    The Anima weapon have to be equipped, which you don't in PotD
