    Same here. Though again, I have more important reasons behind not backing up the filter function. If they're going to make jump worth having in the game, I'd like it to be more than just a bare bones traversing tool.

    I can picture fights where there are segments you might have to jump up to to evade say a long delay super attack from a Primal... like perhaps Leviathan's Tidal wave. That comes to mind. Granted, this could be done with an incline just as well as a jump feature, but it's something to consider.

    BTW there is a middle ground with jumping, and one I would gladly accept. Make a small cool down for the jump so people could not "hop" and disable the use of it all together in combat, both PvP and PvE

    It's also kind of confusing for me how people are in such support for the "Jump" attack move in the game as a part of Dragoon's arsenal, yet actual jumping in the game as a normal physics mechanic is hair pullingly horrible.

    It's not really the same thing, a attack animation for a skill that is staple to the series is far different from actually jumping whenever you please. Just to clear that up.

    One a animation, the other a attack animation.

    Nothing at all confusing about it.

    Jump for Dragoon is a traditional critical damage ability of varying nature -- Jump as an emote is just giving people an animation play with it. Obviously people want Dragoon to retain everything (except for a pet because a pet is bad etc etc!) but the ability to Jump in general really adds nothing to the game especially since it negates the purpose for Dragoon to have a Jump ability if the emote version has battle implementations.

    Some people hate Jump for the purpose people go on and on about how it makes the game better and how it leads to more exploration and etc, when the only truth in that is if SE allows it to lead to more exploration or allow Jump to traverse terrain, which with the exception of a few MMOs jump is only an animation, you're still being treated as you're walking/running and what you can't pass while doing as such, you won't be able to while Jumping.

    No one plays an MMORPG because you can Jump, this is why some people seem to be getting annoyed by the very thought of it, because pro-jumpers are trying to paint as something that will make the game that much better.

    What is confusing to me is how people think that letting characters jump a foot or two off the ground takes away from the Dragoon job. The Dragoon's jump is completely different from the traditional MMO obstacle avoiding jump. If giving people the ability to hop over obstacles would detract from the Dragoon job for people, they really need to re-evaluate what makes a Dragoon....

    Also, I trust that SE will add jump to be more than just an animation, I am not sure what these games are that people play where jumping doesn't let you avoid objects or hop onto them, but I have never experienced them. Jumping has always served a purpose. If someone would like to list some games where jumping is merely a pointless animation (and it was made in the past 5 years), I would love to see it for myself.

    WoW, jumping was pointless in WoW, they added a few (and I mean a very few) platforming elements in it, but jump could have been absent from WoW and it would have been the exact same game.

    This is an MMORPG you dont need to hop onto anything
    This is an MMORPG you dont need to jump to avoid attacks, you EVA skill should be doing that
    This is not an Action RPG
    This is not a platformer
    This is a MMORPG

    Add jumping, I don't care.... but disable it in battle and add atleast a 5 sec delay in its use.

    I'm not the one that thinks the ability or inability to jump defines an MMO. I simply don't care one way or there other. I played EVE for 4 years and for 3 of them I couldn't even see my own character. It's immaterial to the larger experience for me.

    Oh please. The developers released a poorly optimized tech demo for Crystal Tools that was missing a lot of things.

    Actually, the technical demo was pretty optimized, you do mean the 2005 xbox 360 hardware test of 'Rapture' yes? FFXIII is also another well optimized games (few glitches here and there, i.e infinite jump glitch, but what game doesn't have glitches here and there?)

    Also, a technical demo is always "missing a lot of things", thus "Technical Demo". XIV was unpolished but far from a technical demo.
