There can't be a "lack" of references, since they are simply a bonus to FF14.

I may have misspoken but I'm referring to the disparity between the amount of love given to certain entries and not others (FF5, FF6 and FF3 come to mind).

I'm not asking for more references, I'm asking for a more even balance

OP, they added the boss X-ATM092 into the story of HW. I can confirm sadly that the tricks to avoid fighting him more than once doesn't work.

Except that there is more content to come each year, which means they just cant hand out all things at once. Be patient, stuff will come. Just because its not here YET doesnt mean its not going to come. You demanding things to come NOW is neither realistic nor reasonable.

You make it sound like its not in the game cause they dont want to have it / they hate it. Which is - honestly - not thoroughly thought through.

If we do go to Garlemald I would love for it to be a big reference to Deling City. It should have a very urban feel.

Hey OP, I'm a little behind in the MSQ and just tonight I reached that mission, not sure it's the one FallenArisen0990 mentioned but here goes:

FF8 actually has some of the most references of any of the games as shown by other posters here. Yes it hasn't had entire dungeons or raids dedicated to it yet, but overall you can see it heavily influenced the aesthetic behind Garlemald. Even more than FF6 which is arguably where the rest of the concept is poached from.

If they ever did something like the gardens, taking from a previous post's idea, I could see them being incorporated into Nymian lore somehow. that'd be a hope at least for once not tying things to the Allagans.

Speaking of FF8 and Omega (and someone correct me if I am wrong). We are only fighting programs correct? Data collected from history and fiction, so....instead of just fiends, why not have heros too? As in maybe one boss fight instead of say Ultimecia its Squall and his party blocking the way or if you wanna go further into the squeals of fan service have a party of lead characters much like the Warriors of Darkness. Squall, Terra, Bartz, Cloud and such. Just an idea

Sigh, probably unpopular opinion but can we please get more original ff14 content instead of making it a "previous games fanservice the MMO". I'm not against callbacks and cameos but we have a full raid of those now. It also probably doesn't help that I never played any of the previous FFs so to me all those are empty names and I feel like I should care about because they were in a different game that is not even connected to this one( yeah yeah omega timey-spacey shenanigans, let's bring a car from ff15 into eorzea).

Eww, no. The FF brand is what makes this game what it is. This is like asking Marvel to produce a weekly television show set in their superhero universe without any superheroes in it. Who would watch that crap? Obviously, no one.
