It's ok to say don't touch it but Worsted and Dawn serge is in most of the current highest recipes. Also when crap like this takes longer to farm than it takes to collect from timed nodes it becomes a joke.I recommend not touching worsted stuff at all, especially levelling. If you are leveling spam the Of Great Import leve, it's three kudzu thread in total, 250k per thread (multi hand in leve) but if u give HQ it's 500k is exp so 1.5k ish per leve. Kudzu is farmable unlike the worsted stuff that is a nightmare I've honestly barely touched and never want to.
While this is good advice for leveling, it still doesn't change that making pieces of the i290 crafting and gathering set both require Dawn Serge and Worsted Yarn (and some Manzasiri Hair as well) to make them. Natron is no problem since the mats are easily gatherable, but the mob drop mats are irritating to get. It would be nice for SE to increase the amount of items DoW/DoM retainers can bring you. My botanist and miner retainers can gather up to 30 of some items, but my i300 BRD can still only gather 10 of even the lowest level mob drops. :/I recommend not touching worsted stuff at all, especially levelling. Isn't that the point of high end crafts? You don't just go in Savage on battle classes and get gear immediately.
When lvl 65-66 mats are ridiculously harder and longer to collect than 1* mats ? Not really, lvl 61-69 dungeons are not harder than savage mode to my knowledge, PVE and crafting are not comparable anyway.
You can collect 99 ore in 5 minutes while you have to spend 1 hour on brainless bashing mobs with a capricious drop rate for having the same amount of this crap. That makes no sense and make weaver job unbearable.
People keep telling him to use his retainer but he literally talks about using his retainer in the post. lol
As mentioned early on in this thread, desynthesis is a very nice source for cloth. I probably spent 10 million at the vendor in The Lochs, getting enough worst/serge/silk/gazelle/molby to make about 20 sets of DoL/DoH left side.
They capped the SB mine/bot retainer items at 20, 5 for unspoiled nodes. It's funny that Botanist retainer can bring back 20 twincoons from one venture, but battle retainer can only get 10.

No. If you have 1100 gathering on a retainer, they can get 30 of them. I don't think it's a hard cap so much as ilevel and gathering rating cap.As mentioned early on in this thread, desynthesis is a very nice source for cloth. That being said, I do feel the mane and hair are the worst offenders in drop rate.
I don't care about the cocoons as much since Silk has always been a pain in the game. You had timed node ones in ARR, the awful Crawler Drop Rate, and now just a mass amount of them needed to craft. However, given that the Twinsilk craft is the best way to spiritbond for Tier 6 Materia I can't complain too much and use them to spiritbond white gear.
