Are people aware they can join the same instance as their friend if they exit the zone and come back manually?
Not saying it's not slightly irritating, but it's really not that big a deal either.

Most do know, I just don't understand why they can't add in something like a pop up window on arrival that says something like "click yes to join the instance of your party" or even simpler, allowing players to select a choice of running instances to join via a drop down menu.
example of it being a big deal:
S Hunt mark is alive in instance 1. LS announcement goes out "COME TO FRINGE INSTANCE 1 TO KILL THING ASAP, SOMEONE IS PULLING" . You teleport with 3 other people , 1 person ends up in 1, you and the other 2 end up in 3 or 2. Now you have to run to the zone , zone out, zone back in and pick the instance and THEN go to where the hunt mark is. You have now probably missed the hunt mark.
no it isn't life altering.. but annoying as heck.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Or you teleport to an adjacent zone and zone in to make sure you get in instance 1. Likely wouldn't take significantly longer than running from a teleport.example of it being a big deal:

What you are talking about is a band-aid. A first aid until an actual, proper care is given. People KNOW it exists, but who wants to have a gaping wound leaving a huge scar for the rest of their life just cause the doctors say that "there's the band aid, so your life is not in danger!"?!
It is a problem with a working workaround. But like every problem, it needs to be FIXED. Mostly every freaking game that uses instances forces party into the same instance UNLESS players switch them manually. And yes, there usually IS an option to switch instance manually from anywhere, not only on zoning-in.
Oh please, be a little less hyperbolic. You're exaggerating pretty horribly here. What you are talking about is a band-aid. A first aid until an actual, proper care is given. I already said that it's a slight annoyance, and that's what it is. It's not a big deal at all.
Do I think they should never do anything about it? Maybe if they plan to get rid of the instances. But if they are going to be more permanent, then they should definitely let you chose when teleporting. But people act like it's the end of the world or something.
some places it does, especially where neighboring maps have very isolated teleports. Your solution sorta works.. but is still less convenient than letting people choose which instance they'd like to enter.. or just making people teleport into the same instance their party is in.
Like I said, not life altering. just annoying.

Its more then slightly irritating. I shouldn't have to run half way across the map (seeing the maps are so big with one or two manual exits on the far ends) and then back to play with my partner if we want to do open world content. If they can't code in that you link with your party at least they can give you the choice to chose when you teleport in.
