I only take BLM for fights where you can sit on your ass or dungeons for AoE. Otherwise you take RDM. SMN is garbage right now IMO. RDM brings too much to not be considered. Unfortunately because of this everyone and their brother is running one.

SMN needs a WHOLE LOT MORE than magical Embolden to fix it though. I'm fine with whoever getting it really, but let's be honest, Summoners need a thorough re-designing pretty much.
play whatever class you enjoy. nothing else matters. If everyone played jobs only because they were the best the game would fail, not look like it does now, and you would never see a Dragoon. Also RDM is still a new class im sure the frequency will die down over time.
There is also a lot of ex Summoners (myself included) hoping on the RDM train because SMN is a messy bag of trash this expansion . So were essentially down one caster class until SE gets on it
Wish players would stop worrying about whats best and whats not. its not useful.
Not even a BLM player but the Job designs in Stormblood are not balanced at all. You got these high skill ceiling Jobs that deals average DPS (DRG, BLM, SMN) with really punishing and tight mechanics / rotation while other Jobs are easy / can afford to mess up a bit / flexible rotations but still deal good DPS. It really contradicts their design philosophy and goal to "lessen the gap between casuals and expert players" because right now if you don't master the Job you're playing there's no way you can deal acceptable amount of DPS.
Average dps? BLM is doing 2nd highest dps in the game after 4.05 topped only by SAM.Not even a BLM player but the Job designs in Stormblood are not balanced at all. Yeah, on dummies. Taking a BLM into a Savage raid crushes their effective dps because there is so much movement required. Maintaining enochian isn't even the problem, it's the sheer amount of time spent moving around. Triple/Swift cast alleviate it somewhat, but it's not enough to mitigate the dps loss from movment entirely. Add into that the complexity of the rotation compared to RDM's ease of use and utility, and it's just.... why bother?
Not really. If you know what you're doing you can pull 4k+ dps on O3S and O4S consistently for the entire fight.Yeah, on dummies. Oh I should add that's not my video, it was posted on Reddit. If I had a static and time I would be attempting to bring my BLM to Savage.
Play what you enjoy and if you want to raid find a group with the same mindset. Outside of speed kills and world first progression all classes are viable. There's even some around that cleared with a Mch and they are in a really bad spot atm.
I'm my static's Blm and we're progressing on O3s, I do over 4k on O2s, I doubt I could do that on Rdm. It's better to bring a "not optimal" class that you can play optimally than "the optimal job cause meta says so" and be sub-par on it.
