Tank want to train mob but didnt use CD or have decent ilvl, what do?

I dont want to nitpick about this but i know now 330 equipment is out and 310 is more common, pls tank.... If you want to train mob the whole run just so you can finish the dungeon 1-2 minutes faster, at least be adequate about it like using your CD and have decent ilvl to do so

Sorry for the rant but i just got the worst tank ever in this month. Not going to tell who but the guy is WAR, majority decked in 290-300 ilvl and just went full speed ahead in train mob.

Put it simple, guy use CD in mostly wrong encounter (no cd while 5+ enemy but unleash everything against normal 3 enemy), his HP goind down so fast i have no choice but to spam benefic 2 (heal 2) and to top of it we have no downtime, so when there is 2 less enemy the tank just bolted sprint to next mob and just aggro everything, by the time we did this 4-5 times non stop i barely has any mp and the dps roughly on 1/2 tp all the time.

Biggest offender? The tank "mock" me saying that iam that "lazy healer who didnt do any dps" kind of healer, i mean seriously? You aggro like 6+ enemy, didnt even properly finish all of them and just bolted next to train mob everything ahead,i barely keep your hp from dying and the best you can say is iam "lazy healer"?!?!?

Iam sorry but i cant.... I just... I cant... When we reach last mob before final boss i just say it out loud "iam leaving bye" i dont care i got penalty or not but, iam leaving and iam putting that war on blacklist forever. For consolation prize the dps actually whisp me after that said that the tank deserve it anyway and laugh about it, glad the dps feel the same way at least.

A tank that doesn't use its cooldowns in a dungeon is the equivalent of a DPS that either doesn't use self-buffs or doesn't bother with proper rotations. They are either playing lazy, or are just bad. At best they need more practice (and are doing just that), while at worst they just don't care and are only there for the queue times, possibly as an unskilled alt class.

When confronted with a bad tank, just do your best to keep them up because healers can carry a lot. If it's too much to deal with though, consider leaving the party before your sanity breaks.

That's the most idiot Tank I've ever seen. A tank who pulls groups of mobs are one thing, but one that keeps going in a continuous fashion like a speedrunner, not letting anyone rest, pulls off the wrong CDs at the wrong time, and especially torturing and mocking the healer even after the healer did everything?

He deserves it. That imbecile ain't playing Tank the right way and you have all the right to scold him good. Don't worry though, this is but only one of the very few. By all means, don't hesitate to leave when this happens.

Just finish a play session a while ago, got decent party all around this time, thank god for jp server most people seems to play it nice.

and for those tank that say "lazy non DPS healer", just DPS and let them die, should learn the lesson ^^

I just want to point this out for the sake of identifying factors that contributed to this situation: What you chose to do, you did because you were insecure. You abandoned 3 ppl (2 of which were innocent bystanders) because the tank hurt your ego. And let's face, it your ilvl complaint is unreasonable. You don't need max ilvl, even to pull big. You are reaching for anything you can find to blame the tank for the situation, to help reinforce the idea that you were in the right.

We are also talking about a tank who you say was using cooldowns in your post (not the way you wanted him to), but not in your thread title, and your character search would indicate you have little to no experience tanking dungeons. In general (and esp with your lack of experience), I would avoid telling the tank what to do/what he didn't do, and if the tank complains, just describe what happened without throwing blame around like: "I was on full cure II spam. Not sure what happened". By saying something like this, you are letting the group know you were pushing significant HPS, letting the tank know you expect him to survive with cure II spam, but aren't trying to pin blame or standoff vs other party members.

You aren't going to get ideal groups all the time in pugs... Just do your best to help the run succeed and try to mitigate potential drama where you can.

Pulling huge amounts is not much faster then killing in groups of 3, since most classes have weak aoe skills compared to ST rotations so using Single Target rotations on a small group would be quick, depending on dps classes, a SMN/BLM combo could aoe clear well compared to a DRG/MNK

Reaching? He was calling him names. No one deserves to be abused. No one. He had every right to leave the party. Any party member, be it a DPS, tank or healer, has the right to quit the group when that group turns hostile. You do not have the right to abuse another player. And since when did you have to know how to tank to know if that person is a good tank? You don't have to be a healer to spot a bad one. It's the one that doesn't heal. So simple, yet so complex! ;O
