I'm NOT suggesting a wyvern companion just to have a pet. I am suggesting a dragon companion for the sake of dragon companionship

I'm not seeing a difference.

All you had in FFXI was a pet for the sake of a pet, NOT a real companion.

I'm not sure what your definition of companion is. Should it have AI and speak to me?
At any rate, I disagree. I never really felt alone fighting alongside my wyvern on XI.
