    Hard to define "difficult". But in a relative sense, crafting was more difficult in 3.0 than now.
    You can see something is wrong when you can craft 2star item using normal mats with a macro.

    SE was really sloppy, for example, I have materia for getting my miner/botanist to 1200 percpetion, but why would I do that? I don't need HQ ore/plants, I can hq everything with just normal mats.

    Does that makes any sense?

    Yeah more or less that is exactly the problem. I'm holding off that kinda over melding for if/when they finally add stuff where its helpful.

    you would rather have them implement pointless job specific crafting gear before the inevitable green and then blue omni sets? script = glamour and crafted=omni is something I hope they do both now and into the future...

    This is QoL crafting. If you know how to come up with a nice rotation, you will accomplish more per cp than the average person. In 3 months it will be the same as it is now in shiny new gear.

    If anything goes off course, you will just throw in more materia into your gear.

    They will need to rework crafting and/or remove some of the strong abilities (Makers Mark, etc) to give us a 'challenge'. The majority of the people I talk to seemingly want more rng variance... but that just means tedium.

    You know what's so overpowered in this game, that they just HAD to leave out?
    -Buffing during cutscenes.
    -Pets receiving the Protect buff.
    -A blacklist with more than a 200 player capacity.
    -Filtering the flying text for your own numbers.
    -A better way to organize and sort through your macros.

    Crafting wasn't difficult on 3.0. It was based on how many hasty touches can you spam and hope that 70% chance was successful enough. RNG is not difficult, it's tedious and exists as a bad method to waste your time and inflate needed stats. You SHOULD be getting better as you gain experiance. Work faster, less effort, less mistakes, less wasting of materials. That's how progress is suppost to work.

    I never wrote that crafting was difficult in 3.0, tnx for not reading quote you are replying to.
    Crafting was more difficult when compared to 4.0.

    In 4.0 you can take highest recipe, make two macros and craft it HQ with zero to only a few hq mats.
    You can craft the hardest recipes by literally not knowing what the crafting skills do actually.

    Knowledge about what really is in those macros
    is not required for crafting. It is ridiculous and of course it is a step down in difficulty when compared to 3.0 where, if nothing else, you were
    at least required to understand what you were doing and you were required to react to procs. All that is gone in 4.0

    With specialist stone it does (+20 craftsmanship/control)
