Yes they snuck in a nerf with the buffs. Cooldown helped us because it allowed us to get a stronger attack in without requiring a proc.

Now instead of getting a 2 Cooldown every 5 attacks we only get 1. Its not the biggest nerf, but it is a nerf. Not only that but we now will need to use Flamethrower more if we plan to go into Overheat, which is another nerf because Flamethrower sucks.

Gonna reserve my final judgement but maybe I'll ditch MCH now. Cooldown added a great flow to the job once you get used to manage heat but now instead we get to spam 1-2-3 more and only use cooldown after 5 NON-AMMO shots which seems like a DPS loss but I'm not sure. So now it's braindead, presumably still crap and not fun to play.

    They totally missed the mark.

That's not right though. You get 1 reload and 3-4 QR's per wildfire. Even assuming worst case scenario, you still get the same number of CD's they're just moved lower down the chain.

Quick Reload is a 15Second Cooldown.

Pre 4.05 Every 5 Attacks (5 Attacks inbetween QR) you gain 30 Heat if you don't include Cooldowns.

    First Pass of QR: Start at 60 Heat - Use QR(50 Heat) - Attack 1 ( go to 50 Heat) - Attack 2 ( go to 60 Heat) - Attack 3 ( go to 70 Heat) - Attack 4 ( go to 80 Heat) - Attack 5 ( go to 90 Heat) - QR is Back up.

    Second Pass of QR: Use Cooldown (go from 90 heat to 65 heat) - Use QR(55 Heat) - Attack 1 ( go to 55 Heat) - Attack 2 ( go to 65 Heat) - Attack 3 ( go to 75 Heat) - Attack 4 ( go to 85 Heat) - Attack 5 ( go to 95 Heat) - QR is Back up.

Third Pass of QR: Use Cooldown (go from 95 heat to 70 heat) - Use QR(60 Heat) - Attack 1 ( go to 60 Heat) - Attack 2 ( go to 70 Heat) - Attack 3 ( go to 80 Heat) - Attack 4 ( go to 90 Heat) - Cooldown moves up a GCD here (65 Heat) Attack 5 ( go to 75 Heat) - QR is Back up.

Post 4.05 Every 5 Attacks (5 Attacks inbetween QR) you gain 20 Heat if you don't include Cooldowns.

    Start at 60 Heat
    - Use QR(60 Heat) - Attack 1 ( go to 60 Heat) - Attack 2 ( go to 65 Heat) - Attack 3 ( go to 70 Heat) - Attack 4 ( go to 75 Heat) - Attack 5 ( go to 80 Heat) - QR is Back up.

    Second Pass of QR: Use Cooldown (go from 80 heat to 55 heat) - Use QR(55 Heat) - Attack 1 ( go to 55 Heat) - Attack 2 ( go to 60 Heat) - Attack 3 ( go to 65 Heat) - Attack 4 ( go to 70 Heat) - Attack 5 ( go to 75 Heat) - QR is Back up.

    Third Pass of QR:
    Use Cooldown (go from 75 heat to 50 heat) - Use QR(50 Heat) - Attack 1 ( go to 50 Heat) - Attack 2 ( go to 55 Heat) - Attack 3 ( go to 60 Heat) - Attack 4 ( go to 65 Heat) - Attack 5 ( go to 70 Heat) - QR is Back up. Can't Cooldown here

    The main difference

Pre 4.05 You gained heat as you went through QR phases. This allowed us to build a free Cooldown every 5 QRs because you gained 5 Heat pre QR Phase (or 5-6 GCDs). So every 25-30 GCDs you gain a free Cooldown.

Where as post 4.05, you actually bleed heat per QR phase. Meaning you are losing a Cooldown every 25-30 GCDs. This is a 2 Cooldown difference between Pre 4.05 and Post 4.05 every ~Reload or Minute.

So somehow, if our RNG is not good and we do not get Procs on average (between both of our Procs 50% of the time or more). Its a DPS lost.

Unfortunately using Flamethrower to build up lost heat isn't too good of an idea either because we either need to get 2 hits in on the target before our next GCD or we potentially lost potency compared to our Auto attack.

PS: The above calculation is a very simple look at the overall situation. Our GCD is not exactly 3.0 Seconds so the ration of GCDs to QR is not 5 to 1. Its a bit higher so we gain a bit more heat than described above, but the differences between Pre and Post 4.05 are still the same if not worst. Since Pre 4.05 will gain more heat compared to Post 4.05 on a higher ratio of Weapon Skills to QR.
