Patch 4.15 is what Yoshi-P said they were aiming for.

The second Omega tier will be released in Patch 4.2.
Was there a reason why Yoshi-P was holding back on the relic quests? 4.15 seems awfully late. HW's start of the relic quests was kind of... well... awful.
It was that late back in HW too. And I agree, HW was pretty badly done for Relic quests...I much preferred ARR's, save for the Animus step (the books were absolute hell).

In Heavensward's case it was late because 3.1 was terribly late in general. Holding the relic back that long was definitely a mistake in that case.
We're still not sure what form the Stormblood relics will take though. Yoshi has stated before that the new relic will be tied to the new Eureka zone. This heavily implies that we won't be grinding old content as we used to but instead grinding a special new form of content designed specifically for the relic progression. It makes sense that the relics are being held back this time as it seems they depend on Eureka and some other things being implemented at the same time.

I wish they were implemented earlier in Heavensward. Then there would have been more time to collect Unidentified items, Umbrites and light. Hopefully this time the grind wont be as soul crushing.

Relics will always be a grind was that way in XI was that way in ARR nnd HW why do you think it would change? :P

You are correct , however they were very different animals. Relics in XI were game changers. When a Samurai suddenly doubles his weapon skill damage and multiplies his weapon skill per minute exponentially it makes him pretty epic compared to everyone else , or in the case of DRK dps is off the charts and they become nearly unkillable. In ARR relics were the best weapons at many points , but Yoshi pretty much said he didn't like that and made them second class to raid weapons in most cases moving into HW. This wouldn't be a problem except it took more effort and time to construct an inferior weapon that was literally labeled for casuals. Doesn't that seem backwards? It may not change , but I for one hope it does.
