Trying to run leveling roulette on dps got AV 3 times in a row and every time the tank rage quit at the start

So yesterday I was the legit horror story in the DF. I had been running Omega on whm, and then went to a levelling roulette with ast. Mistake!
It always takes me a few to realize it is not my whm, except I somehow always know I have cards. So we load in with a friend (he was on his ninja), I cast protect and tank immediately sprint forward, getting one group of mobs and then running to another with us trailing behind him like lost puppies. His health started to drop fast before he even reached the second group and I was like - it's fine, I have the the big instant heal here, yeah ? I hit it, tank dies. What? D:
So I manage to res him, top other dps and myself, and then bam, he's dead again. I was seriously panicking, we wiped (go me!). Tank ressed himself before the rest of us died and immediately left the group. In two seconds we got a replacement pld, I cast protect again, he went forward, pulled two groups, all good. Then I wanted to hit the big heal again - nothing. Okay, weird. Then I realized... they changed how Esuna looks. It reminded me of the icon of Essential Dignity. I was... healing the tank with Esuna.
Luckily, the run went flawlessly after the initial stumble. Sorry to the first tank! He must have thought I was a complete tool![]()
I think having a mandatory Hall of the Intermediate might help. After leveling my DRG to 70 and now getting my SAM up to 63, I have slowly come to realize that some tanks are not aware of the conal nature of some AOEs. There is nothing more frustating to have the tank encircled evenly with a pack of mobs and me and any other conal-aoe job only being able to hit half of them at a time. I haven't noticed this behavior a lot before but now I see it almost every DF dungeon (possibly because now you can parry and block from flank and rear?!?!?). If you're a tank and did not realize our pain, please please group them up tighter, like a virgin.
Interestingly enough, this thread was posted on reddit recently. It's an old picture of tanking basics.
My original question was not rhetorical or mocking in any way. I do not have RDM or SAM at 70, so I wouldn't know how their AoE rotations play out at that level. I know BLM has amazing AoE potential now at 70, but I'm wondering how the AoE of other jobs compares.
But if you really want to read sarcasm in what I say, here you go: Thanks for being yet another easily-triggered white knight and misreading what I wrote.
If the tank is a paladin, it's probably because the new parry/block changes, plus Total Eclipse is all-around circle with quite a short range, so they want to hit all mobs. Keeping everything clustered in front of the tank only hits about half of them.

Running Kugane Castle for that cute Yugiri minion and some Verity to buy the last piece of gear for RDM, and I had the unfortunate timing of using Displacement to go into my Verflare, and I Displaced myself outside the barrier, which sealed off the boss room right as my Verflare hit.

Displacement is so much fun though. Especially in Titan when the tank is keeping him in the middle of the arena. Three RDM as DPS, and one of them, right after I used Displacement and landed BARELY on the edge, said not to use it again. Of course I ended up using it every time I could.Running Kugane Castle for that cute Yugiri minion and some Verity to buy the last piece of gear for RDM, and I had the unfortunate timing of using Displacement to go into my Verflare, and I Displaced myself outside the barrier, which sealed off the boss room right as my Verflare hit.

Epic Shinryu in progress this morning.
Queued for mentor as tank and got a Shinryu 22 min in prog. It was me, a PLD, four dps. I called on the FC for heals and got one of our raid team's Astros.
The add phase decimated the party. We lost both healers (one to auto run) and the RDM raised them both while the ult killed another dps (for a total of four party members down).
Healers got up, recovered brilliantly, and we proceeded to smash every phase of that fight until the SAM limit break and success. Props to the PLD who shared every Akh Morn with me and used intervention and cover to great effect.
Runs like that (which did have a bonus) are why I do NOT want to see that fight nerfed.
Okay, this is something I don't understand(possibly because I play on PS4, and haven't touched a PC version). But why do people, when needing to move in a fight you can run off the edge in, use auto run? Is it on automatically for PC? I know for PS4 you need to already be moving, then tap L1 to turn it on.
