About Yotsuyu: Yes she was abused and it gave her at least a background of why she became that way. (Even if this could have be done better) But even if this gave us the insight of why, it still does not change the fact that she enjoyed the torture and killing of innocent people. At least Fordola seems to regret the decision of shooting her own people (still makes the action itself bad) but Yotsuyu never felt bad about it till the end. Her telling us her story felt more like wanting to stop us from going so that we all would die. And if it was not for Gosetsu we would have been killed. Even when all seems lost for her, she still shot him five times, probably hoping to have him fall down and kill us..

Even in our society, where we try to re-socialize criminals she would have been thrown into prison for the rest of her life. I mean would you feel sympathy for a mass murderer that killed your family because he was abused as a child? I just dont see how they would do her redemption in a believable way. Its imo not very realistic that someone changes just because they were shown one moment of kindness and I am not even sure if Gotsetsu truly saved her from her death. All her actions showed her enjoying the things she does, why should she suddenly see it different? Also why should she ever be accepted by any Doman people? If she survives this expansion and does not land in prison for the rest of her life I am just going to shake my head.

There is a difference between redemption for a character like Ysayle, that killed people with her believe that its necessary to end a thousand year old war (and her redemption was dieing to save us) and redemption for a woman that enjoyed torturing and killing innocent people.
