About communication: so I have to ask for the tank to go slower, instead of the tank asking me what I am able to comfortably heal? Seems fair. So you, seeing me struggle to heal, tell me to use abilities I might not even have time to use because my heals are barely keeping up as is. Regen doesn't have an initial heal and locks you in CD. If the tank is dropping incredibly fast how will I gave time to use it?

Instead of looking at the entire situation you just assume the healer is doing something wrong and try to "correct" it. Instead of asking if they would like if the tank went slower you, in essence, blamed them solely for the issues they were having.
We were all new once, and just because you learned the way you did doesn't mean everyone will.

But the fact is, it ISN'T against SE ToS. We're defending that person's choice because it has been reported to the GMs in the past and the GMs have been on record saying it is NOT against the ToS. Is it a breach of common etiquette? Yes. I will not deny that. But common etiquette doesn't apply in terms of reports etc, SE ToS do. If the group had agreed to a certain set of rules (let's say in a PF, you stay for 10 runs after getting your bird, and then someone gets their bird and runs off. Or you agree to pass on a certain pieve and then refuse to pass on it when it drops), then you can potentially report someone for not keeping their end of the bargain that they promised, if you keep yours. But here's the thing, even if he did do that, the fact you then refused to heal until he was kicked thus stopping the rest of the group progressing who obviously showed they didn't mind what he had done and didn't see it as a kickable offence, was a kickable offence. People have been banned in the past for doing what you did there. And frankly, two wrongs don't make a right. It sucks that you lost it, but doing what you did after won't net you any sympathy. Had you just accepted it and moved on, despite being annoyed, you probably would have been lent a more sympathetic ear.

ADDENDUM: In the DF, it's considered a free-for-all and no agreements are considered in place. Now if an agreement is made once you're in the duty, that's different. But all parties involved must agree to it for it to become binding in the eyes of the GMs. Basically, unless agreed otherwise, if you can roll need on it, you're free to do it unless you specifically create an agreement otherwise.

ADDENDUM 2: Don't underestimate the power of communication. Had you asked "Please can I have this? It'd be an upgrade for me" or something to that effect, you might have had a much more productive outcome. You'd be surprised how far just asking politely for something can get you. For example had I been the caster in that group and you'd asked me, and it wasn't an upgrade for me, my response would have been "Sure thing!" and I'd have passed on it. No harm, no foul. But here's the thing, the SMN was well within his rights as far as SE was concerned. Does it suck? Yes, it does. Was it against rules? No it wasn't.

Hey, if you wanted gear, you could've soloed it yourself as well. The only difference between you and the SMN is that one of you was still doing their job, while the other was throwing an extremely petty temper tantrum.

But back to DF. I dropped into an in-prog Deltascape 3 run, which was missing both healers. Thinking this would take a little while to fill up, I clearly stated that I was going AFK to the bathroom, and did so.

By the time I got back, hey, look at that, I'm dead on the floor. Could've avoided all that by just waiting a couple of minutes and saving themselves some extra work, but nope, I guess not.

Here's the thing, did you even try asking him if you could have it since it was an upgrade? Did you try opening communication like I suggested? Like I said, it goes a lot further than you'd think and I did say if you'd asked me if you could have it, since it'd be an upgrade, assuming I was just getting it for glamour or GC seals, I'd have said "Sure thing." - In fact, I usually pass on loot anyways. But rules are rules and not everyone is like me, and no matter what he'd done, it doesn't excuse you refusing to participate until he was removed from the group. And in my first post, I offered to help you where I could. But I can't change the rules, and there's nothing that can be done here. The majority saw what he'd done as not an issue. The majority also saw what you'd done was an issue. That's all it boils down to. My thoughts and feelings on this don't matter. The rules and the way THAT group felt are all that mattered there.

EDIT: Just in case the "Well you can see my gear" argument crops up, if I'm a DPS, I don't pay attention to the gear of others. Unless things start heading seriously south. So yes, you would need to pipe up and say "This is an upgrade for me, can I have it please?" - I'd run a quick cursory check, and assuming it's greater than or within the rough ilvl area of your current gear (like if you're saying you need i30 healer body and your body is i310, then yes, I will see that obvious discrepency, but lets say you're in an i32 body and rolling need on an i30 body as an upgrade, I'm not likely to notice, and will just assume better stats for your role), then if I'm only in it for glamour/GC fodder I would pass for you. You but need only ask and I'd see what I could do for you

If you want gear so badly:

GC.
Marketboard.
NPC-vendors.
Crafted, self-made.
Crafted, by a friend.

There you go. Plenty of options.
How long will this "upgrade" last you? Three levels? Four? How long does it take you to reach that? A couple of hours, probably strechted over a couple of days?
How long does his glamour last? Weeks? Probably repeated again whenever he feels like it? I'm wearing my battlemage-set from time to time again. My friend is glamouring his every few months again.

When it comes to leveling dungeons I'm actually more on the side of the glamour-person - they wont throw the set out the next day to get better gear, they'll keep it.

Your self entitlement is almost sickining here - you didnt deserve that more than he did and seriously... with this attitude I'm not sure if the second kick you got wasnt for a pretty good reason aswell. You're not more important than the rest of the group and if you refuse to cooperate when something isnt going your way...

If you have the option of doing something alone with no concequence or doing something in a group at the cost of someone else, I'm fairly certain most sensible people would pick the former.
