Can we get Jump Potions for our Retainers?

how does changing a retainer from MCH to Red Mage give you ANY advantage whatsoever? they gather the same items.

the only difference is now you don't have to level the class you don't want to play anymore(MCH) merely to keep you retainer on level.

I understand the issues with changing a Miner to a combat class, but I don't see how swapping combat classes hurts anything at all.

But no problem, we can work with this as well - one of my FC mates mains bard, and had one retainer that was battle class that WAS NOT bard. What did he do, before SB was released? Change its class to bard, and relevel it, because chances are it's the one battle job he's gonna level in a long time.

Now, his proggress with the old class was completely erased - if, come a new expansion, he decides he wants to main something else, he's gonna have to level it ALL OVER AGAIN instead of simply changing retainer classes.

This is (obviously) more noticeable when changing from battle to gatherer classes, but in my initial post I was referring more to the principle itsef than the specific classes, lmao.

It's not NEEDLESSLY complex, all you have to do is send the damn things out on ventures every hour or so, or leave them out overnight while you go out on your merry way.

Tedious for no reason?? While leveling my retainers I can gather every mat I could possibly need to level my crafter/gatherer classes, do people really need to have access to all these mats if they can't be arsed to all but spend some time and ventures in order to level their retainers?

He should keep the retainer as archer until 5.0
If he want another main job at that time, then he can just change the retainer to any job without losing the level. Only if he want to change it again after the retainer have a job, he have to level it again.

battle class -> any battle job = no level reset
battle job -> any battle class/job = level reset

Don't ask me why the devs have removed the neccessary to level up a battle retainer after changing to another battle class/job only half

Had to think about OP's post for a while but yeah, liking this idea! Even more than the regular boost potions actually.

SE could put these on the mogstation really. Would rather see the normal boost potions in-game for a ridiculous amount of seals, maybe raising 10 levels or so each, as that would imply you actually played for a little bit! Anyway, nice idea.

The only purpose of retainers is to make you money and store your items, so changes to retainers that would be disruptive to either of those are changes that likely shouldn't be implemented.
