You aren't telling the full story. Those 2 players who you just accused for "extreme house hoarding" has been on that server for years, way before "refugees" came flooding in due to the free server transfers.

The plots there were left empty for years, and they bought it 1 by 1 after spending thousands of hours decorating each and every one of them. They are not hoarding for the sake of hoarding. They aren't flipping those houses either.

Let's stop saying people just didn't work as hard as they did, can we? PLENTY of people have the gil for a house. They worked hard, too. The onus is mostly on SE for designing such an awful system, but people selfishly hoarding houses like that, that barely get used, only makes the situation worse, just like people AFKing and refusing to log out lead to them having to do forced logouts.

You don\'t need to be lvl 50. All you need is to be lvl 30, hit the grand company rank which is easy, make the fc on your main, have your alt account join it, craft to lvl it to 8 which is easy (I did it solo in 2 days) turn it over to your alt when done. It can be done in 2 days. I\'ve done it.

They bought up the ward BEFORE the floodgates of Balmung opened up, and it doesn’t seem like they are trying to price gouge people at all, they just seem to genuinely enjoy housing and wanted to decorate houses and keep to themselves, so the fact that people are shit talking them now that SE decided to open up the floodgates I feel is super unjustified. They even said it themselves “Mateus showed no signs of getting bigger”.

Remember how they were surprised people tried to sell the Eternal Bonding items over Party Finder? If there's an exploit, MMO players will do everything they can to make sure they can get the best out of it; and the only way to fix that is to patch it out. Good faith simply does not work.

The basis of the argument is not how long it takes but the fact they don't need THAT many houses in the first place. Who needs 28 houses? This isn't an achievement as it is just pure greed. Did they not think this was going to happen? That their server was going to be forever and ever underpopulated? What was the outcome they were hoping for? They'd merge with another server and take their entire ward with them and it go unchecked?

See my first answer. It IS Square Enix's fault, but it's also their fault for thinking it'd go unchecked for so long. Are they expecting us to revere them? Hold them in a high regard? Give them a gated community for only them to enter and exit at their leisure? Pretty sure Yoshi P ain't going to tell those two to "Please look forward to it"

Things could have been much more simpler had them implemented the limitation of 1 personal & 1 fc housing per server per account, yet they never do it, now it's beyond repairs. They have to design the housing system from the ground up or face the wrath of players from both the rich veteran (capitalist) camp & from the new-blood (socialist) camp.

As much as I hate to say it, These guys did what they could using in game systems and in game mechanics. None of us were ever guaranteed housing, or told NOT to buy houses for every alt we could make. They PAY every month to have multiple alts, they put time in for each of those houses even if it was "just a couple days" (.. 2 days of solid gametime is not a minor investment in my opinion) . I see arguments stating that NOW that the situation has changed, they should give up their investments so others can have a chance. .. Nope. This is not how the real world works. First to put in the effort gets the prize, in every single thing worth having in the world. First one to ask out the person gets the boyfriend/girlfriend/attackhelicopterfriend, first person to put down the cash gets the car, first person to get to the bigbox store on thanksgiving gets the TV for 5 bucks etc. etc.
