Strange, I wasn't aware this could even happen with FFXIV.

Most games will just automatically create more instances of a zone if it's near the limit. Even basket case SWTOR does that.

They were doing this but I haven't seen instances since the latest patch.

to those of you complaining about people camping the fate and how its a stupid waste of time....... its those types of people that are going out of their way to insure that the calls are made to the public so that "YOU" can also participate if you're fast enough. This is not just related to ixion fate, its also related to the S and A ranks. Also before any of you mention about the websites that actually tell you when the spawn occurs anyone who has actually searched for them can tell you that they dont work half of the time and requires people to actively search for them.

Maybe on dead servers. On Balmung, there are just enough people out and about that a super obvious weather change will be noticed and then reported back to linkshells. Nobody camps Odin or Courlregina or Proto Ultima anymore, but those still get called regularly. It's also completely different from hunt mobs, which are much more easily targeted thanks to hunt trackers and spawn mechanics, which results in far less wasted time in general. People complain when it takes four hours to spawn Zona Seeker. Compare that to the 12+ hours people spent in the Lochs today waiting for an Ixion spawn that never came.

Well just got this message, tried to go to Ixion but the zone is too crowded for all of us that want the FATE to even go in. So, it goes without saying that this is pretty ridiculous considering that "later" the FATE won't be up and there won't be any reason for me to even want to go there.

I don't care if the zone is congested and I don't want to try again later, just let me zone in so I can do the FATE.

I think its way more self entitlement to full afk there for 24h preventing people doing the MSQ because they can't get into Lochs, Ala Migho and to the end of SB or people missing gathering spots or not being able to do the last botanist quest (which was true in my case and iirc Ixion showed up 6-7 hours later, lol).

Everyone who just afk's there is an self entitled selfish prick who wants be rewarded for literally doing nothing for long periods of time. Disgusting.
And because we already know the fate (huehue) of fates like this.. it's also pretty stupid.

Wasting time with afk'ing for little to no nreason while preventing people from actually playing the game. Just as disgusting as regular afk'ers preventing people from logging in.
