Because their models, like 95% of all new mobs added in SB, are ripped directly from FFXI.I personally hope for a re-design of the Ananta tails to actually slide along the ground. They even speak like snakes, why do they float above the ground?
The elephants there suggest that will be our Ananta tribe mount, but at present they all already float like Moogles. They don't need a mount if they can already fly.
Anyone else want big, thick(thicc if that's what you go for :P) tails on Ananta? Please like up. They are like a "half-naga" tribe atm with their tiny, floaty tails.
yiu mean final fantasy. :P
lamia existed across a few ff games. the ananta are the base race that the allagans used to make the lamia.

No. I meant literally copy and pasted models from FFXI.
Other models that have been literally lifted from FFXI in SB:
Chapuli
Fluturini
Cardians
Matamata
Rocs
Other FF games use same monsters too, but they're always redrawn/redesigned. FFXIV doesn't redesign them, they just literally copy'pasta them from FFXI, same with Ananta, which are pulled from a 15 year old game's resources lol.

Interesting video that touches on just a fraction of the borrowed mobs as well as their thoughts on how it works with lore (or doesnt) as well as other things.

And in a weird twist of fate, FFXI actually took some from XIV as well. Namely, the Salamander mobs made up one of the bosses in SoA.
I'm... I'm sorry to tell you but... That's just another Lamia-like person that looks nothing like the ananta model...
