About the looks of the new raid gear

I love how everyone is bitching over the look of the crazy story mode gear... When we don't even have the Sav mode gear yet, for all we know it look very diff... How about you wait and see hat the full endgame sets look like befor you get all jump about some crazy ass gear you will not be Useing in 2weeks.

@Hazuki87: Maybe because most of us dont raid thus wont get the savage gear?

Also they could have put this set in Kugane castle which would still be a reference to FFV but makes more sense at the same time? They could have used other FFV outfits and changed it so it would fit the raid better.

That still doesn't refute the point that people expect Omega gear when the pattern has always been the final tier, it's like people don't even bother reading. And it's the Interdimensional Rift, we could get anything and everything, not JUST Omega gear pieces. This time we happened to get Genji armour, maybe next we'll get armor based off FFX? Maybe we'll get armor based off FFXII? Who knows, it's the Rift, it's got portals to literally everything, real and unreal.

People like you are why these forums have such a toxic reputation.

I agree with Shippuu, however, that the forums only make up something like 10% of the total playerbase.

Oh that's right, they matched in exactly the same way the current gear matches Deltascape.

Most of that gear is based on classic FF characters and armor, so I'd say it fits very well for a raid that's a huge throwback to a classic FF game.

This gear was designed to look the way it does because a lot of people WERE asking for a SAM armor inspired set. I think people are going to fall into 2 general categories: those who love it and those who hate it. If you're of the latter camp, then this is what the glamour system is for.

You can have Samurai inspired armor that actually looks good too. I'm fine with the idea behind it, but they just overdid the bulkiness of pretty much everything.

There are also references to Final Fantasy V all over FFXIV. Hell - Krile is literally named after one of the main characters from Final Fantasy V.

The Genji Armor is the strongest armor in FFV, it is also the single most ICONIC armor from that game because it has been used in almost every single game since then in some form - usually represented by the Genji Gloves.

Genji Armor isn't even originally from FFV, and besides that the FF games have never made a huge deal about equipment anyway outside of weapons like Excalibur and Ultima. I don't think anyone's going to lose their mind over their favorite armor set from FFII making it into the game, especially when none of the gear has a canonical design anyway, they're just stats on a menu.

I personally am going to have to disagree. I love bulky armour, but only when it comes to tanks. But in the case of healers and casters, specifically, I didn't feel it was that bulky?
