Pretty much this. Plus you have to consider the lower cost of and instant cast time of Aspected Benefic. Just to dispel some confusion, the 140 potency on Aspected Benefic is the regen portion of the spell under Diurnal Sect. The base healing on this spell is 200 for Diurnal Sect and 230 for Nocturnal Sect. Either way Astrologian's have strong, better, cheaper shields than Scholars have.

Have you actually looked at the tooltip of the spell? What you are saying would make this spell worse than Aspected Helios, an AoE heal. I don't need to recheck my math because I know how to read a tooltip.
