If you see some of the choices you can pick for dialogue options for your character it does make you look like you are just out for battle recently. You agree to help Yugiri purely to have chance to fight Zenos again. You decide to kill a primal and even if you didn't you would still kill it anyways

Anytime when there is a fight your character basically says they will always be there

You live for the thrill of battle and this is why Zenos points this out to you and why he says you are the same it has all built up to this point. If you read the journal you will see the game even points it out to you in the last quest journal.

In the Royal Menagerie, you are greeted by a terrible sight: Shinryu, Ilberd's draconic god of vengeance, at the mercy of the Viceroy. Zenos fawns over the primal, which he proclaims a being of pure violence, and muses over how instrumental you were in its creation and capture. You regard him silently as he proceeds to mock his great-grandfather's legacy, while hinting at his own dark ambitions, biding your time to strike. At last, he declares that all he has done, he did but for the joy of doing it, and that only man has the wisdom and the clarity to embrace violence for its own sake... As you have.

The first quote I didn't choose, for Yugiri I specifically went along because I knew *something* was going to go sideways, and while I did say I was going to kill Shinryuu, but that's because it's very existence is a threat to the planet/star.

They can claim I'm a warrior around for fighting all they want, in character I am not.

Of course, Thats the main reason I put WoL the persona they use for the story.

And to be fair, I'd have someone who'd enjoy Zenos just because he has someone new to smash is head against when he got bored. I get the appeal, it just amused me from a personal standpoint.

I won't even deny, Zeno's was on point with alot of things....he didn't really seem to care about the war, or any of that political crap. All he cared for was the greatest hunt around, and that longing for a good fight, with someone his equal. Hell, as the WoL, for my character personally, I could care less for the wars, their problems, and the petty disputes. I just wanna test my limits, to fight the strongest there is, and enjoy the thrill of the battle. To make the bloody land crumble and shake from the ferocity of our battle, for the heavens and gods themselves to witness such a GLORIOUS battle. All I want! ALL I WANT IN MY CHARACTERS LIFE IS FOR SOMEONE TO PUNCH THEM IN THEIR PERFECT JAWLINE AND IT ACTUALLY HURT ENOUGH THAT THEY ENJOY THE BATTLE D:<!!!

Oh how I'd love to fight Zeno's again in future patches.....multiple times. Or hell, even a villain of the same caliber. Maybe not even a villain but a rival maybe? Fighting Primals is fun and all, but you already know you're going to come out on top. But those 1st 2 battles with Zeno's, even though i KNEW i was going to lose the 2nd time, the 1st loss, was completely unexpected; and I enjoyed it. Because at the end of it all, finally, the WoL had a someone equal in power, if not, more powerful than they were. And to basically close the power gap just for that last confrontation? He should have been a raid boss in my eyes....a dungeon did him no justice.

Can't say my characters enjoy violence, but I will say they're sick and tired of completing 1 MSQ only for 8 sidequests to pop up, and then to complete one of the 8 and three more side quests to pop up. That certainly drives them to the point of violence for pure pleasure.

I'll be pedantic and stress that that "as you have" is part of the paragraph retelling Zenos' monologue. It has no bearing on your character from the canon perspective, but is a reminder of how Zenos views your character - which, as you pointed out, is highly legitimate all things considered, especially as he never came in contact with your chara before, so he wouldn't know better if you chose to play them differently, like Ilenya.

    Why is this concerning?

Is it also concerning when people go with the evil morality route in games that give you the choice?

    It's fiction - I think it's okay.

Alas, a lot of people are so obsessed with trying to claim the moral high ground that they insist on trying to dictate what people should and should not like even in works of fiction. It happens with any setting - be it FFXIV or Game of Thrones. I typically find antagonists more compelling since they're the characters who usually have a more in-depth motivation than 'it's teh rite thing 2 do'. They might have a tragic backstory, they might be broken - or they could be misguided in regards to their goals.

They also tend to have a strong presence. Zenos and Yotsuyu certainly dominated the scenes that they were in when compared to someone like Lyse.

My WoL is the do good type, so she was dead set on stopping him and liberating all peoples. Me...I wanted to join him by his side. I bet that would be an entertaining friendship
