honestly they should remove the skipping cutscene option from some of the older dungeons to let people watch it and not be rude about it =3

What they need to do is make it a solo instance and just get rid of the Main story roulette and replace it with Crystal tower roulette (labyrinth, syrcus,WoD,Void, weeping city and dun scaith) and they let you run it like leveling roulette without any restriction with how many you've unlock.
There's a lot of overexaggeration on the cutscene length in this thread. CM has maybe around 10 minutes of cutscene length, Prae maybe around 15. (This is assuming you read/scroll the text around as fast as the VAs speak it.)
I can safely say through multiple personal experiences, having someone go through the cutscenes (and actually waiting on them) isn't suddenly going to make either of these dungeons take around "an hour", especially if the other 7 people in the party massively overgear the dungeon, which they usually do.

FFXIV players are generally an elitist toxic bunch, nuff said. Don't like what I'm saying? Probably because it hit right on your mark.
I was insulted on an extremely personal level by my previous raid group.
So, I couldn't care less on who I'm offending anymore because most players don't deserve you being nice to them. It's a vicious cycle.
Just df and be contented that you are able to clear the dungeon, and watch the cutscene in the Inn. That's the reality of the game now.
When I started playing MMO's back in 1999/2000 with EverQuest I learned patience, I learned what a grind was, and what hell levels were. I remember playing for about 22 hours straight for almost a level and a half. You would wait roughly 5-10 minutes for mobs to respawn after clearing the camp. Now this may be a generation thing, but having been there from roughly the start of the MMO movement I can safely say that the people that complain about new players wanting to watch the CS should learn patience, and understanding. I'm a new player, I will be watching the CS in every dungeon at least once. I will do this because I want to experience them in the heat of the moment (good song btw), and it shows a bit of respect to the people that brought us this game, which is as far as I can tell fantastic. And if the complainers are getting something out of my first run new player experience, then you can wait. Obviously you have nothing better to do. You can always try to socialize with the party members that are patiently waiting too. If socializing during downtime bugs you, maybe you should rethink your life choices and go back to single player games.
One more thing, treat new players nice. They increase the games sub income, which leads to more money, which leads to better and new features and content because money=fun.
It's old content, people are over-geared, and realistically, most of the people are there to burn through it for the xp. They've got stuff they want to do with their time too, and just as you paid your sub and bought the game, so did they. There's too much judgement being tossed across both sides of the aisle. I'd suggest asking in free company, linkshell, the novice network, or even putting up a party finder for running the duty roulette dungeons if you want the full immersive experience. There are plenty of players in this game that would be willing to help if asked. It's also unreasonable to expect people to wait for you if that's not their purpose for being in the dungeon. It was poor design on SE's part, but please don't let these two dungeons sour your experience for the game....it gets much, much better I promise.
yet in ff11 a game with longer fights and longer cs, no one complained. ppl didn't say " content is irrelevant" newbies came first for a long time. also the 1 v 7 argument doesn't hold water, you can only speak for you, not 7 other people.
me and my g/f ran this as a due several times and it doesn't take an hour to do with seeing all the cs. and this is doing both cm and prae.
imo you guys were very rude, game needs new players to keep going your behavior drives them away. threads like this come up often, when will ppl learn to treat new players a bit better.
newsbies should come first, content is old to @ launch ppl. not a newbie. It's old content, people are over-geared, and realistically, most of the people are there to burn through it for the xp. Yes, newbies should be treated well. As a Mentor I put on my Patience Hat before I queue with my crown on and try to be as helpful as I can. But these two dungeons are a total PitA and I never queue for them- if I get stuck with them in Mentor Roulette, I'm going to follow the majority. I at least leave way-marks or even run back to show them where to go if they get lost, and offer the advice to watch CSes at the inn if they get confused about why no one's waiting. I'm not going to ask the rest of the group to slow down so the newbie can get the "full experience"- that's wasting people's time, and while I may have time to spend walking through the instance with the newbie, other people are on a limit or have simply done the damn thing so often that they have no patience left for it. (I can sympathise with that a lot!) So there's no reason to be rude to sprouts who want to watch the CS, but the sprouts should understand that these two dungeons are the only time that the group will leave them behind if they choose story over speed. It sucks that there's no better solution than leaving them at the start to watch the scenes back to back or pull them along at a break-neck pace, but it's not the end of the world. I challenge you to sit through every Praetorium/CM run with a newbie you find yourself in as they watch each CS. Regardless of how patient or understanding you are it seriously starts to get on your nerves.
MMOs are not just for people who can sink 100s of hours a month into them any more. For better or worse, we've entered an age where devs have embraced a desire for efficiency from many players. There aren't a lot of people like you around- most players are used to getting rewarded for performing repetitious tasks as fast as possible instead of waiting and planning mingled with some action. SE put enticing rewards in front of the MSQ roulette because of how annoying it is for veterans to run those dungeons, but newbies still need those dungeons to get to everything after them. Where there are rewards to be had, there will be players maximizing their gains and minimizing the unpleasant aspects (time spent mostly) of performing the task. As long as the newbie isn't berated or belittled for staying behind to watch the story, there's no real reason to get angry at the people who just want to get in and get out either.
