Today's horror story:
I want to farm ponies, I've been trying to get Ramuh's pony for a while but I always lose rolls ;-;
Anyway! So I join this unsynched party for pony farm as a white mage...
Now. I have no idea about those unsynch strategies that forgets orbs, but in the last phase the MT had those terrible 3 red stacks and didn't swap Ramuh with the OT (who wasn't getting orbs) so I try my best to keep him alive (even using benediction and tetra), a cure II would heal 200 hp.
Then of course I got the rolling thunder + paralysis and no one freed me.
After the first kill (acquired with sweat and blood after 5 wipes, mt decides to use vit jewelry because, yeah, that will make a difference), I just left the party and turned off my computer.
Now I am sitting here frustrated with myself because I feel bad for leaving.

Which boggles my mind because two of those fights are HARD healer checks, particularly 1 and 4 which have a lot of shit going out at once. I've cleared all of them several times at this point and aside from complications caused by my being too tired to think clearly towards the last two runs, all the fights were fairly easy so long as everyone played optimally. With that said however, without a single enrage mechanic I'm mildly boggled why either of those tanks made life so difficult for you - particularly with the damage that goes out in that last fight if people aren't paying attention. Hells, I'm boggled why tanks seem convinced they need to remain in DPS stance at all while MTing. I had one in Susano Ex who drove my cohealer and I BATTY because we had to babysit their health through every single tank buster and more than a few times due to their dropping lightning on the party.

Don't worry people us nice tanks are out there. There are some of us that prioritize reducing stress on you great healers, and not flexing our small ass dps numbers. I dont know if anyone peruses the tank forums atm but alot of stuffs flying around about our dps. Seems like Pancakesplease got a couple of the people who think tanks need high dps to hold enmity, they were probably wearing 270 dps accessories too. I guess ill share my "healer" horror story though. FC was running Temple of the Fist and got a WHT in duty finder. For about 20 mins this guy was flaming my PLD buddy that hes not pulling "enough mobs" or the "right" mobs the "right way". A pull went south and PLD tries to pick up threat n the mobs going for the dps, and the WHT gets REALLY upset he didn't pull more stuff. Needless to say he was vote-kicked and a great Lala WHT replaced him and they finished the duty~Happy ending. But this stuff does go both ways unfortunately.

Got a PLD for Temple of the Fist. DPS are SAM and RDM
Pulls the 1 coruel group and goes to the wall, as per usual. We destroy the wall but PLD proceeds to run along, not picking up the Mossling adds so RDM gets them. PLD runs up the stairs and picks up BOTH sets of mobs on stairs before stopping. PLD finally notices mosslings and gets them off the RDM but is taking ludicrous amounts of damage, even with CDs and me popping every oGCD I have between Cure 2 spam. His answer? He SPRINTS in a circle to avoid mobs, stopping only to clemency himself and occasionally Circle of Scorn. SAM is running after mobs, try to AoE them, and RDM is both DPSing and helping to heal.

Miraculously, we don't wipe and the PLD says "that was fun". You'd figure after that, he wouldn't do that again, right? NOPE. Whole dungeon went to same exact way between every boss, pull everything and just run away.

Even though we didn't wipe, or even experienced a single death, I wanted to kill that PLD. It was AWFUL.

I realize this is generally rants about bad tanks but today mine is about my cohealer.

I did Lakshmi normal with an AST today, my boyfriend was at that point in his MSQ so I figured I'd go with him. I was excited to see her at first, her glamor was on point and her gear was mostly 300+ so I assumed we had a good thing going.

I was so, so wrong.

She's in Noct so I assumed she would be shielding before the big hits. I'm in there with a Medica 2 ticking just DPSing my heart out. We get the first party wide hit and eat it with no shields. No biggie, I pop assize and make a joke to my boyfriend about her being too busy fishing for a balance to heal. I say it irl, not in party chat of course. Rude.

She winds up eating the first room wide knockback AoE and dying. I didn't know people still did that. At this point my boyfriend is OT and I tell him to watch her and see what it looks like she's casting. I would snoop but I have the sneaking suspicion (from my draining mp) that I'm solo healing this right now.

For 15 seconds she doesn't cast anything. 6 moves for my warrior OT. Then we all get blessed with an AoE balance.

It occured to me that I shouldn't DPS during her balance at all to spite her. It also occured to me that I should only DPS and maybe it would shock her into healing. Either way I didn't do either, cause she got pulled into Lakshmi's bosom along with the MT at that point. My boyfriend stepped right in and we finished the last 15% just us. I would have rezzed her if I thought there was a point but she wasnt really a cohealer and I needed all of my mp at that point.

To that AST or any like her out there - you are a healer first and a balance dispenser second. Please remember that.

Posting a horror story about my co-healer in lak extreme earlier today.

I understand that Lak EX can be solo healed with mana support and I'm completely okay if I was ask to solo heal.
BUT...
This WHM joined party finder without notifying me a word or two about solo healing, she started her adventure with stones and aero; not bothering dropping down a medica or two.
I was able to pull the first three runs fine (with the second and third limit breaking since tank got no heal when busted). The last run got messy and we wiped at 12%. Through out the fight, the MT has been politely asking for benediction when being busted while she ignores it completely.

After the forth run wipe, I left the instance and said "Solo healing as AST was fun!"
She replied: "Lak can be solo healed completely. I guess I'm just expecting too much."

To healers out there that just wants to do damage in dungeons, please come in as a DPS instead rather than coming in as a healer but doesn't bother healing.

You're much nicer than me. I'd've said 'well, sure, if we had a proper five DPS and not some shitty DPS leeching off the group. WHM DPS LUL.'
