So you wanna force every tank to pay millions of gil to get STR? Why not just bring back HW VIT?..This would be a nonissue if they allowed overmelding on accessories ONLY to accommodate STR melds. Overmelding % chance needs to not be so ridiculous though. No one wants to go through str melds on all accessories at 20% chance or lower... Minimum cap should be in order 100% chance for first 2, 80% chance for 3rd meld 60% chance for 4th meld, and 50% chance for final meld.
Heaven forbid they make crafters useful again.

Materia is very easy to get, don't even start with that crap. Even VI materia is easy to get right now with seals/dungeons/cracked clustors. With a much higher Meld chance, overmelding is not an issue. Overmelds have always been a great if you have it, not a big deal if you dont.
I don't know why they wont bring it back but I'm not SE.

I'm implying that overmelded accessories could be better than raid accessories because main stats are that strong.

I'm assuming that you can meld up to 5 slots with 1 green slot according to this post.

When I was talking about overmelding. I was assuming that all accessories be overmeldable, even raid gear.I'm implying that overmelded accessories could be better than raid accessories because main stats are that strong.

But that's not how it worked? Everything on reddit says that you can't overmeld raid gear.
My guess as to why they don't want to let raid gear be overmeldable is power creep but also to give crafters a reason to make gear (as secondaries can still be fairly useful). The point of my first question is they probably prohibited main stat overmelding to prevent craftable gear from being better than raid gear.
