Yoshi-P considers this a second beta since according to him it is "incomplete". Because of that, we ARE the play testers.
So then all of the loyal fans of the game, and genre that currently play but would rather pay for something that provides more fun, SE shouldn't care if those people quit for greener pastures? You're just a player, so I don't really care what you say and I learned via previous arguments with you that you are as stubborn as a rock, but SE needs to appeal to everyone that plays right now because v2.0 is at the very least a year away (i say at least, because I will not be surprised if it gets pushed back). A year is a lot of time for MMORPG players to get situated elsewhere and forget about coming back, even if they are a fan of Final Fantasy.Their service isn't even competitive with other free to play games, yet the playerbase is in the tens of thousands.
Maybe they need to do that if they want to make the game profitable in the long run, but that's not even the point of the current subscription schedule. It's there to cover some costs, and that it will do.
That said, right now they don't need to provide competitive service to fulfill their goals pre-2.0. The game attracts certain type of consumer regardless.
Yes, they aren't trying to go into full-blown profit mode, but they still can't be losing players. They need to hold on to enough to keep the game in the public eye because if it falls into the dark while it's getting updated it will require that much more marketing, which isn't cheap. And to hold onto players, they really need to look into providing a competitive service.
Any convincing arguments as to how ~50k is "enough" and ~30k suddenly is not? By all accounts the game already is completely in the dark with such low numbers, and a small change won't make much of a difference there. They will have an uphill battle when 2.0 comes around regardless.Yes, they aren't trying to go into full-blown profit mode, but they still can't be losing players. They need to hold on to enough to keep the game in the public eye because if it falls into the dark while it's getting updated it will require that much more marketing, which isn't cheap.
Not the current players. Otherwise they would have been lost already, as the service isn't and has never been competitive by any margin except graphics. And to hold onto players, they really need to look into providing a competitive service.
You care enough to respond it seems...I don't really care what you say
I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!
Every MMO company in existence says the same thing: MMO's are never complete.
OH MAI GAWD EVRY GAME IS IN BEETAH
The backend of these systems are being carried over to 2.0. These currently designed systems are not getting thrown away. They will work better in 2.0.
As stated we are just now hitting 50% of the changes...complaints about classes isn't necessarily fair as many of the changes are gearing ready for job implementation. Without releasing jobs nobody can really accurately say whether or not all classes are balanced. They are tweaking classes substantially to integrate in the job system. We are playing in an environment of systems still to be integrated...so until jobs are fully integrated let's not prejudge whether classes are totally not balanced. Let's wait to see how the balancing act works first when all the systems are in.
Also, these people complaining about this class is OP vs this class because of a boss fight...That's just a STYLE of play and the I want gear mentality and so want to beat bosses like Ifrit as easy and fast as possible.
Also...SO WHAT? People who play Final Fantasy know that bosses have strengths and weaknesses...some classes will suck at some bosses. This whole notion that every class should be able to contribute to a boss is silly. Some bosses in previous FF games are immune to physical attack and you must use magic to kill them...etc etc. It's called STRATEGY!!!
OP poster I think you are reading some of the translations incorrectly. While one person is working on a quest line the assets and so forth and the coding etc are done by others. It's not one person is writing, coding and doing the artwork for a whole quest line dungeon or quest chain. It's you can only have one person coding the scenario. The scenario is written and story boarded by the team. Once approved it is sent to the art department for assets. The writer writes the text for the full scenario. Then these assets are handed to the coder which then puts the scenario together. You can't have multiple people working on the code of the scenario and this portion of the coding is fairly simple and straight forward. Mostly if..then statements and while loops easy peasy.
Oh, except this game does both. Either way no patch gets released without bugs or small design issues here and there. 1.18 and 1.19 were acceptable on any standard.
