Don't like DPS queue time? Roll a tank or healer!

In any case, SB launched with two DPS classes. I'm surprised that so many people are complaining about the DPS queue times, given the fact that everyone knew that oodles of people would be playing RDM's and SAM's.

I'm pretty sure it's a "Me Me Me!" thing that more people aren't willing to level tanks and healers first. But I could be wrong...

Considering your PVP Topic where you are all about ME!ME!ME!, you are quite a hypcrite not to mention what Tank runs around Level 68 with level 60 Gear? This means that you actually do only PVP and just act for your own fun. Or you do not care a bit about the healer in the group. Yes but the other people are about ME!.

If everyone who hated queue times as a DPS would swap to a tank or a healer, YOUR queue times would become longer because you'd have more tanks and healers competing for your spot, not to mention the fact that there would be no DPS available to join your party.

Stormblood could have lauched with 2 dps, (sam and red mage) and 10 brand new tank classes. DPS qeues would still be exactly the same..

Dark did NOTHING for queue times. it did nothing for the tank population as a whole. virtually all the people that picked up dark were people that were either pld or war in arr. the overall tanking population was the same..

Yeah, any team-based game kinda needs people to play all positions. You can't have a football team where everyone is the quarterback. But here? Everyone wants to be DPS. And then they want all the jobs to be DPS also. Then when they queue up for a dungeon, they can't figure out why their wait times are fucked.

I'm sure it's not fun to be stuck in queue constantly, but what can you do? People want this game to be a DPS fest until the reality of the situation slaps them in the face.

Maybe this game needs to have multiple specs for classes like WoW/DCUO/etc. That way people can enjoy different classes while filling different positions. Because as long as SE stacks the game with a fuckton of DPS-only classes, then you're going to have queues filled with DPS-only players. And it's only going to get worse in the future.

I don't know if this is something that is endemic to the "ME" generation, but I hear and see a whole lot of people complaining about the DPS queue times. So this is addressed to you hypothetical "Me Me Me!" people:

for someone who likes all jobs what do u suggest when u finish leveling ur tank or heals within a months time cause thats how long it would take the disparity is very large. I leveled a tank to 70 with ease changin jobs does nothing to solve the real issue at hand

I don't mind the wait times. Yeah it can get a little annoying, but it allows me to do other things while I'm waiting, meow :3

thats not true the 1 month or so of HW was dps heaven , instant queues for leveling DR and trials :3 it was awesome

I'm surprised people aren't demanding AI party members (you know like FFXI has, or SWTOR)

But the thing I geniunely dislike about MMO communities is the lack of caring by other players. This is how things go down...

If I volunteer my time to help someone, I become that person's first contact to do -everything-, if not -all- content. Despite any other friends I may have in the game. Some people are extremely abusive about this prospect and I even have to deal with it outside the game. Millennials are the most impatient entitled people ever, and if you don't give them what they want, then they passively aggressively threaten to harm you, your friends or themselves to try and guilt you into helping. "Gamers" especially are prone to this insane demand that -someone else- fix something for them. Not they fix it themselves, but someone else is clearly responsible for this state of being.

The answer is in front of everyone's face. If you do not like the DPS queues, roll a tank or healer. If you don't like getting shouted down for being a bad healer/tank, then don't roll one, and wait your turn in the queue, or find some reasonable friends. In most cases there are people who casually will help if they are available, but don't want to be married to your schedule.

PS: This is why I won't touch the mentor system in FFXIV. Having being the "go to person" to get through certain content in a certain MMO until a patch removed the need of my services for that part of their main storyline, it was a personal kind of hell doing it for free. As soon as you log into the game you'd get flooded with 100's of messages demanding help.
