If character creation is possible then free transfers should be possible and vice versa. Either both are allowed or neither is, anything else is just bad customer service. It is ridiculous that people are still allowed to make throwaway alts on the server when there are people wanting to join their friends. I hope this is resolved soon.

You can't create characters in Omega though. Not at least before this maintenance.
The real question is: if you already have a character on a server, why can't you create another one? lol

Yeah, no kidding. It's not like I can play both of those characters at once. I just want alts on Balmung.

More than 10 days have passed and transfer are still blocked, while character creation isn't (as of today I saw circle icon on Omega for char creation).

And I stay blocked from my FC and friends.

Really even 24 hours notice before the actual block of transfers would suffice.
I don't think its an unreasonable request.

The problem with that is that then people would use that for one last mad scramble before the servers close, meaning they could still end up overcapacity (See: Balmung). It sucks, but that's why they can't give 24 hours notice.

Paladinleeds, thanks for your point, but I don't think that's the case. Else they would have blocked character creations as well. It doesn't make any sense for them to block transfers with the reason of "too crowded" while turning around and allow people to make new chars without any limitation for TEN days, just so they can get free days bonus on their account...

Also I don't think an 24 hours window of notice would make such a drastic change but I guess we will never know..

If you instead of complaining had created a new character on Omega as soon as you found out transfers were blocked, you would have been able to reach level 60+ with that character by now - and been able to play with your friends again.
The bonuses for new characters on new worlds make leveling super-quick.
