Usually what happens in PotD for me is that if someone DC's, we just keep going and don't kick them unless we make it to the 9th floor and they still haven't come back. Mainly because you don't want to wait for someone to replace them and then have them have to wade back through the floor full of mobs that respawned in the meantime. But at any rate it's typically a non-issue.For the POTD, with those two it is understandable. For the DC one, I agree with the tank for waiting 5 more minutes. The last dungeon I was in both the tank and I d/ced. I got back first, but the tank never came back. In the end, our group decided to vote abandon due to the nature of the DDOS attack. You should have done the same, and you wouldn't have gotten the penalty.
If everyone starts dropping, it's better to vote abandon.
Why even believe what the OP even says? you just blindly take his word on thats what actually happend?
I didn't mix them up, I am simply stating how it is in Japan. That is how they use their duty finder and party finder. MSQ does not prevent you from queueing in as a full group for your first time.
Benefit of the doubt and the fact thar it is pointless to call him a liar. It is better to cement our position under the circumstances we are given. Regardless of what really happened, it doesn't change our stance on the matter: if you are actively and purposely stopping people from progressing in an instance then you are griefing. That is the stance we are taking and regardless of what really happened, that stance does not change.

Using party finder and getting people together that all understand were doing speed runs is a better option. Using DF to think youll get paired up with the same players who share that mentality is a gamble.Duty Finder in Japan is used for getting a quick clear, especially if you are on a bit of a busy schedule. It is considered rude on the Japanese servers to use it if it is your very first time; party finder is supposed to be used for first times. So I wouldn't say it was made for casuals; rather that is just what the English community made it into.
Except asking people to get in the portal when they are just standing there refusing to progress and nothing doing anything else other than chatting is not really rushing someone. Honestly, those two people in PotD deserve to be reported and I hope OP reported them; it's one thing to hunt for chests, but literally standing around and refusing to progress is just griefing.
That really doesn't mean anything to my statement at all. I am refuting the statement thar DF is designed for casuals. It is what the community makes of it. The English community made it for casuals while the Japanese community uses it to clear things in a "get down to business" manner.
Also does not change the fact that actively and purposely preventing progression in an instance is griefing.
I lived in Japan for several years. My wife is from Nara. We both game. So, I'm pretty sure they operate the same as they do everywhere else. That aside, it's simple logic. The DF is set up to pay you for doing old content so there are people who will run it with new players. If nobody had a reason to run old content, like the daily roulette bonuses the sprouts wouldn't be able to do the MSQ without finding people to do it with them and they would quit. Without those daily bonuses what reason would anybody have to run Sastasha for the bazillionth time? Squeenix doesn't give out roulette bonuses for nothing. It's the same reason every relic quest involves revisiting old content, and if you get a sprout you get another xp/gil/tome bonus. The PF is specifically for finding like minded people, which is why it has lockouts.Duty Finder in Japan is used for getting a quick clear, especially if you are on a bit of a busy schedule. I agree that some people are just jerks. However, that's not SE's fault. The cooldowns are there for a reason, Mostly so people can't boot others so that they can get the loot or just be malicious.
On the first run, well, they were being jerks.
On the second run perhaps the one person left was friends with one who had dc'd. I know I have a tank friend who runs dungeons with me so I can get through the dps queue faster and he wouldn't ditch me if i dc'd. I also run with friends who are lvling dps on my healer and would not kick them.
On neither run was it SE's fault.

OP flat out says they refused to step on the circle because they were "being rushed." That's griefing. I'll agree that his attitude could be better, but that doesn't change the fact that those people were in the wrong.
op didn't say that originally, he stated it after the fact people were disagreeing with him. Between the poor attitude, lack of editing original op. I find it suspect. People do content to complete it. He also didn't say what the chat was about, nor did he say he made any attempt to communicate with them. Personally I think what he said was a bit of a lie to make himself appear to be the victim he wants to be seen as. He using buzzwords like "being punished" and using other players.
to assume two faceless people were griefing, back lack of evidence outsude the rude OP.. is a bit pre mature and witch hunt like.

I was on tonberry for nearly a year, what she states is very much correct. You make a pf to get your clear, df is more for farming. That is their community rule-set. DF is random, so it best to have cleared the content before hand to not waste time. Jp community is all about promoting teamwork and communication, they are very group centric.
They do not blame 1 person for a wipe, nor for low dps. It is a group problem and they work it out as a group. Jp players play this gave with a different attitude then NA dc. Instead of assuming, make characters on tonberry. My g/f and I kinda perfer it over the NA dc community in some aspect, I had us switch because my work schedule.
